| IPOD TOUCH ON V-STAR CLASSIC |
Stereo on aluminum plate and Ram |
New Ram mount for the iPod Touch |
Neat and clean installation |

| | |
|
A couple of years ago I decided I needed to add stereo to my V-Star Classic. A friend gave me a Ram mount to make installation easy. It has been rock-solid for the two years I've had it.
Naturally, when I decided to add an iPod Touch I ordered the Ram Mount from GPSCity, com.
The entire system is out of the way, easily accessible and protected. |

| GARMIN DAKOTA 10 RAM ATV MOUNT |
Garmin Dakota 10 sitting snugly in its cradle |

|
I recently purchased an ATV and took out my old Garmin eTrex Legend HCx GPS to map the trails around my home, the device was just loosely attached to the handlebars and the screen was damaged as a result. I then purchased a new Garmin Dakota 10 GPS and got the RAM mount from GPScity.ca which has worked out great, the mount installed in less than 5 minutes and its flexible enough to place the GPS where you need it and it can be easily tightened to where it'll stay in place and not move even on long bumpy rides. |

| GEOCACHING THE TRANS CANADA TRAIL |
|
|
The Trans Canada Trail is an ambitious project, linking each coast with a multi-use trail. What better way to spend a beautiful Sunday, than to take a trek on the TCT. The area in the Chilliwack River valley of BC has some great scenery and would make a good field test for my new Montana 650.
Many geocachers in the valley have placed caches all along the TCT, which gives even more incentive to hit the trails. Aug 7,2011 - 5 hours, 18km round trip, and 29 caches, I came across a beautiful hidden beach. What a great place to cool off after a long hike, and a great opportunity to try out the built in camera of the Montana 650. These photos were taken with the gps.
Until next time TCT, I look forward to visiting you again soon. |

| RAM MOUNT AND HUMMINGBIRD ON NITRO 882 DC |
788C installation with Ram Products
|
I recently purchased a new to me 2005 Nitro 882DC, it had a very basic fishfinder mounted on it and I wanted to replace it immediately. I did some shopping around and was able to find a new in box Hummingbird 788C for a very good price so I made the purchase. I then had to take on the task of removing the original finder and installing the Hummingbird. I was not sure what the best way to mount the unit was, and I had the extra consideration of what to do with the external GPS receiver.
After searching the internet for solutions, I found gpscity.com, they had the exact products I needed to complete my installation. They had great prices and shipped very quickly. My installation went off without a hitch and I could not be more happy with the way it looks.
Thanks for a great site, it realy helped when I needed it most. |

| DROID ON A KATANA |
|
|
Greetings, I wanted to be able to use my Moto Droid navigation, listen to music, and take an occasional call while on my motorcycle. I needed something clean looking. centered, sturdy, and I did not want it to turn with the steering. With that in mind I used two RAM diamond balls, a long RAM connecting arm and the universal finger mount. The set up works great. The folks at GPSCity worked with me getting the right parts to make it work. I will be working on the same set up for my wife's motorcycle shortly. |

| ARCTIC MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE |
Crossing the Arctic Circle on the way north. |
Note the latitude |
just north of Inuvik. |
The weather closed in a little for the trip back. |
Some parts of the road got pretty sloppy.
|
During the summer of 2008 I took a 14,000 mile motorcycle ride from Florida to Alaska, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada, and back. The trip lasted fifty-two days, but the memories will last a lifetime!
The photos were taken along the Dempster Highway, which is the only road to Inuvik, NWT, north of the Arctic Circle. The weather on the way up was wonderful; however, the weather before and during the return trip turned much of the "highway" into a motorcycle mudbath!
Note the latitude in the closeup of my Garmin StreetPilot 2610. That photo was taken north of Inuvik, at the northernmost point of the trip. I use a RAM Mount to attach the GPS to the bike, and the mount and GPS worked well throughout the trip, and they still do today. |

Recently purchased the Ram Laptop and printer mount and am very pleased with the product as well as its functionality on the road and job sites. Customers are impressed with the fact that I can print legible reports, invoices and inspection reports on the spot. Very rugged and well designed for some of the rougher roads. Would highly recommend for a trades person or service company to utilize a system like this. See photos.... |

| RAM IPHONE SURFACE MOUNT |
from the side showing attachment
|
I needed a solid mount for my iPhone when in the car. I used the iPhone cradle with 2 diamond plates and a standard length arm to mount the iPhone in a Honda Element. I used some high strength 3M tape on the back of one of the diamond plates to attach it to the console, as I didn't want to drill any holes.
The mount works perfectly and is extremely stable- no jiggle at all! |

I mounted two diamond plate bases with 1" ball on the inner fairing. The left is used for a Garmin GPS Map 396, which moves from bike to truck to boat to airplane depending on the mission of the day. The right is used for a cup holder or Ipod mount depending on need for the ride. |

| FORETREX MAKES GEOTAGGING PHOTOS EASY |
Garmin Foretrex 101 logging track history hands free. |
Interface into computer and download track history. |
GPS PhotoLinker merges photo time with GPS location at time photo taken.
|
I wanted to share how I believe the Garmin Foretrex 101 is a best buy for geotagging Photos. Ever wonder where that photo was taken, now you can by using several programs out there to take your GPS track history and matching it up with the times your photos were taken. They become part of the photo's Exif data and can be easily be viewed at a later date to see where the camera's location was at the time the photo was taken, works with most digital camera's out there.
I set the GPS Track history to 6 second time intervals, this will give you over 17 hours of logging, make sure you clear or allow wrapping of the track log. I used GPS PhotoLinker for OS X to do the merging using a serial to USB adapter. There are other great programs out there for Windows; when downloading set the interface to Garmin Mode.
Using a $110 GPS that will double for Geocaching and great for using on the bicycle is better than those data loggers that cost just as much and you have to find a place to carry it while your out photographing. The Foretrex is handsfree and a great value. Hope you enjoy Geotagging your photo's! |

| MOUNTING A GARMIN SP7200 IN MY MOTORHOME |
Dash Board Showing GPS Mounted |
Close-up of the GPS and Mount |
List of Parts I Used | | | |
|
I mounted a Garmin SreetPilot 7200 in my motor home for a LOT less money than I'd have had to pay to have one installed by the factory. Instead of the Garmin stock mount, I mounted it on the face of the dash using a Ram Mount with two ball joints. I purchased the parts from Expressmounts.com.
The SP7200 is a great GPS mapping system that is large, easy to see and intuitive to use. And it comes loaded with features. This model also plays Audible Books, MP3 music, and even XM radio. You can plug in an SD card to store a vast amount of music, audio books, and POI's. I wired the audio lead into the Aux #2 input of the dash Magnadyne Radio. The 12v lead is wired to the dash radio switch so that it works with the ignition off. There are no wires laying on the dashboard making for a very clean installation. |

| TOMTOM GO 510 WITH MAGNETIC MOUNT ON KAWASAKI NINJA 500R |
|
|
This setup was made possible through the purchase of a TomTom GPS ram mount and a compatible tri-magnetic base from GPScity. Before placing my order I was afraid the magnets would not be strong enough to hold the rather heavy TomTom Go 510 in place, but after receiving the product I found that the quality magnetic base keeps my GPS securely in place over any ordinary bumps on the road and is also extremely portable. Thanks gpscity! |

| RAM FLEX SUCTION MOUNT ON NISSAN TRUCK WINDSHIELD |
|
|
This is a picture of the RAM suction cup, flex Garmin 48 mount that I purchased from GPSCity. I could not have asked for a better mount. I can position it for right hand or left hand use while driving and the controls are easy to reach and the display easy to see while not taking my eyes off of my driving. With the flex neck I can position it to get it right in the sweet spot. The most amazing thing was the cheap price from GPSCity.com and the great shipping. When I get my next GPS I am going to be shopping at GPSCity again! I might even add a mount for my palm PDA and interface it to the GPS. Not using the GPS for anything other than fun while driving and maybe a little Geocaching now and then. Mounted in a 97 Nissan Truck XE |
