GREAT MOUNT FOR MY DRIFT HD170

Wanted a good place to mount a second camera for photos. I already have one for videos. So came up with the ideal of drilling a hole in the windscreen and attaching the ram mount to the windscreen bracket. Worked out great.

2002 HONDA VFR800 CAMERA MOUNT

Camera Plate ATV UTV Mount RAM-B-149Z-2-202A mounted on my 2002 Honda VFR800 V-Tec using a HERO HD video camera. My buddy and I rode the Shenandoah National Park in VA and to record our ride I used the ATV UTV Ram Mount on my front right fork. The install was quick, the operation of the mount worked flawlessly and the video turned out great. The HD camera never moved from its position on the mount, not even during highway speeds.

The mount itself doesn't have any installation instructions but it's obvious that the rubber sleeve fits over the metal strap and the metal strap adjuster fits neatly inside the hard plastic fitting. Although this mount worked well on my bike, I cannot account for its use on other bikes. As long as the mounting and camera do not imbed the operation of your bike, then it should work as well as it did for me. Enjoy!

I've bought the Garmin GPSMap 62S last year. This year got a XR650L 2011 and wanted something hard and sturdy to fit it on.

So I selected the "RAM Mount Garmin GPSMAP 62 62s 62st Motorcycle Mount RAM-B-149Z-GA41U" as all guys on motorcycle forum recommended me. This Ram Mount can't be that easy to install. 2 screws ans that's it, installed.

Just ridden 200 km on roand and off road with it by now but I can say it's build tough, built to last for years.

Easy access to the GPS unit buttons. Easy as hell to remove and put it back on the Mount. I highly recommend this product. Cheap bottom price, high grade quality, tough, easy to adjust the angle.

I wasn't really sure what category to place this story in... Motorcycle or Geocaching. However, since it involves a modification to the bike, I figured that category would work best, even though it was geocaching that prompted me to make the modification in the first place!

Last year I got the middle-age itch... it was time to recapture some of my youth. What better way to do it than start riding a bike again? Since I hadn't ridden in many, many years, I thought I should start out with a smaller bike, so, after a little hunting, I was able to find a 1983 Suzuki Tempter GR650 with less than 9,000 original km on the clock at a great price. The bike had been in storage for a while and needed a little tlc, such as replacing some signal lights, changing the windscreen brackets and de-rusting the fuel tank.

Once I got her going, I immediately started riding all over the Manitoba countryside. This is what got me back into geocaching. It was a new way to get to caches that were more than a walk away and it was fun! The problem was that I had trouble navigating. I would have to get a basic heading to a cache location, pocket my Garmin 60CSx GPSr and ride. The maze of minor highways soon had me flummoxed and I found myself stopping more and more often to re-acquire my bearings. It was really bad due to the major flooding Manitoba experienced in the spring of 2011 with all of the road closures and bridge wash-outs.

For this year, 2012, I was determined to make my geocaching life a lot easier. After a search online, I found that RAM mounts would probably fill the bill for me quite nicely. GPSCity had the parts at great prices and were located in Canada, so that made it a no-brainer for me.

I placed my order for the RAM-B-174-GA12U package, which was everything I needed to mount the 60CSx to a bike. The order was made on a weekend, shipped on the Monday and arrived Tuesday. All I can say is, "Wow - that was fast!"

I had already watched the installation videos, so within 30 minutes of opening the package I was ready to ride. The only issue I had was that I tried to mount to the brake bracket using the spacers (as shown in the video), but in my case, the spacers weren't needed as they made the screws too short.

I took a quick ride and the mount works great! There is zero vibration and I was able to position the unit so it is easy to view but doesn't block my view of the road or my instruments. I grabbed a quick cache and came home.

I'm looking forward to lots of bike-caching this summer! I think I will also eventually put a RAM base and arm in my car so I can transfer the cradle/diamond plate & ball combo to and from both vehicles at will. (I should have got the Navigation package on the car, but...!)

Thank you RAM and GPSCity for a great product, excellent installation instructions and blazing fast shipping!

I purchased this camera as my wife will not travel with me on the ATV trails. She always wants to know where I went and what I saw, so now I can show her. The camera takes very clear high definition movies. I was really amazed at the quality.
I have it set for the second setting, as the fifth setting eats up too much memory. I bought a second battery, just in case.
I have put several 1 inch ball mounts on my CANAM 400 ATV. This way I can place the camera at various locations. One on each side and a triple on the dash. The ball mounts are not very expensive to buy.
I took a one hour movie today as I was driving around the bush. The camera was very solid and did not move on its mount. The branches hitting it did not move it from its mount. Make sure you buy the ball mount to go with it. The sales guys will help you.
I found that when I hit the puddles the water did not stay very long on the lense. This is important for when I get home and download the movie to the laptop. The length of time to download depends on the length of movie you took.
I am very happy with it and can't wait to get way back in the bush. The skidoo trails are closed now and the mud is everywhere.
Can't wait to take movies of my friends as we travel into the wilderness.
See the pictures enclosed.

After doing some research for mounting two objects on my ATV I finally found the mount to do it. I wanted to have my Garmin Oregon 450 GPS and my GOPro Naked camera behind my windshield on my CANAM 400 ATV. I was cruising through this website when I came across the three ball mount. I watched the instructional video and got on the phone right away.
I put it on the ATV today and both my objects work well. They are also out of the way of the brush as I scoot through the woods.
If you are limited in the space on your ATV then this is the way to go. It also helps keep the clutter down when trying to see through the windshield.
See pictures attached.

iPad Mount for 2012 Honda CRV. Its not listed as compatible (too new?) but it fits perfectly. I was going to try all sorts of ways to make it fit but when I realized the plastic cover over the seat bolt came off easily it allowed the RAMPOD1 bracket to fit in place without any mods. The only thing was I replaced the seat bolt with a longer bolt, with the same rating. I used a small piece of wire to act as a template for the bend in the rod, which made it easy to plan out the bend. I could cut the plastic cover to fit back but I'll Leave it off as it cant be seen. Be sure to bend towards the driver side to allow the seat to slide forward. Hope this helps someone else. Note that the Bracket is cast metal and probably wouldn't bend easily, if at all.

GARMIN MAP76CSX ON SKI DOO TOURING 380

Mounted the new Garmin Map 76csx on the sled using the RAM mount with the 1" plate base. No joke, it took less than 1/2 an hour to mount it and that was taking my time! Since I don't have a tach, the mounting location was easy to choose, and easy to see/reach.

The mount works great and holds the GPS very snug. I didn't hard wire the unit to the sled's battery, but it still worked great on a -20C day. You can see in the pic that on this fresh snow day, the screen of the GPS kept getting covered, but when breaking trail, I'm not looking down at the GPS very often... just trying to stay out of the rhubarb!

The Garmin Map 76csx works flawlessly. I am upgrading from a Garmin E-Trex Summit, which worked great but lacked mapping capabilities. I was able to load maps from a friend's TopoCanada software, and with the 4 gig card, I have more than I'll need. Since I'll primarily be using this for fishing, being waterproof was a must. This should be my GPS unit for a long time to come!

I also bought the u-bolt mount and look forward to exchanging it between the Foreman 450 and the boat come spring!

I've had my E-Trex 20 for a couple of months now and found it to be a very reliable devise. I purchased it with the Ram Mount system for the E-Trex 20 but found once I went to install it, that the Ram Mount would not fit the devise because there was no room for the power supply cable once it was plugged into the devise.

I improvised and turned the ram mount up-side-down, used a few hand tools to modify the mount and now it works perfectly fine. I will purchase a new ram mount once it becomes available for the E-Trex 20.

YAMAHA DUAL SPORT WITH GARMIN MONTANA 650

I have had many Garmin units and have always relied on GPS City for my source of top quality GPS and Ram mounts. I found that the 1 inch Ram hardware is strong but needs to be very tight to hold the GPS in place while used off-road.

I recently purchased the new Garmin Montana 650. Due to the size of the Montana, I decided to use the larger 1.5" mount this time. It is very secure without needing to over tighten. I use the Montana 650 on my Yamaha dual sport in the Nuvi mode while on the street and when I hit the trails I switch the Montana to off-road mode.

Here is a list of the parts purchased from GPS City:

1) Ram p/n RAM-231ZU, RAM Mount Zinc Coated U-Bolt Aluminum Rail Base with 1.5 inch Ball

2) Ram p/n RAM-201U-B, RAM Mount Aluminum 2.25 inch Short Length Dual 1.5 inch Socket Arm

3) Ram p/n RAM-347U, RAM Mount Rectangular AMPS Plate with 1.5 inch Ball

4) Garmin p/n 010-11654-01, Garmin Montana 6xx AMPS Rugged Mount with Audio Power Cable

Here are a few images of how this mount looks on my 2000 Yamaha V-Star 1100. Works great, very sturdy.

If anyone has any ideas on where to pick up some sort of plastic self-closing clasp to hold the wires along the underside of the gas tank, I'd love to hear them. For now, I'm relying on the old standby, duct tape. Fortunately, you cannot really see it from the side unless you're looking up at it.

I use my Sky Caddie GPS and my Android GPS when I play golf. Both serve as a great GPS for the course and I also keep track of my score and stats on my Droid.

I just mounted a plate with a 1" ball using screws and nylon threaded nuts to the scorecard holder of my three wheeler golf cart and use either the eXplorist mount (SkyCaddie), or the new X-Grip to mount my Droid.

Both are solid and release easily to take with me when I come around the turn. I used to carry it on my belt but had to keep taking it out each shot and this way it is right in front of me as I'm walking.

GPS FOR BOAT AND BIKE

I had been using my Garmin GPSMAP 640 for 3 years as a chartplotter on my sailboat. When I bought a dual-sport motorcycle (BMW F650GS) recently, I thought I'd have to get a new GPS as well. But, I was able to set up a Garmin mount on a RAM base that screwed right into the windshield base.

We have a gal at church that’s confined to a wheelchair and only has limited use of her right arm. During service she tries to follow along with her bible, but struggles with trying to keep it on her lap when trying to turn pages and would quite often drop her bible. Earlier last year I purchased an iPad and had stopped carrying my bible since I downloaded a bible app on it and thought maybe an iPad might be an answer to her problem. I approached the family with my suggestion and they decided to give it a try. As she lives in a nursing home, there were some security concerns so the family wanted to have the iPads locator turned on. The locator is used to locate the IPad if it is stolen. In order for the locator to be used, a password needed to be used to prevent the iPads locator from being turned off in case it was stolen.

Did some research and found your company along with the wide variety of parts. I started the project with a RAM Mount Seat Clamp Mount with Round Plate (RAM-B-316-121B-202U) along with the RAM Mount Apple iPad Cradle (RAM-HOL-AP8U). The initial installation went well, however we discovered she was unable to enter a password due to mobility limitations. We also found out the nursing home had a couple of restrictions that we were unaware of at first. Since a lift was needed to get her in and out of her wheelchair, the mount couldn’t interfere with the lift and the iPad had to fit under her Dining Room table.

On the first try, we found out she had trouble entering the password and also it didn’t meet nursing home criteria since it wouldn’t fit under the table. Although the second try met two of the three issues, she was still unable to enter the password which meant having to purchase parts to physically secure the iPad to the wheelchair.

For the next effort, I purchased a RAM Rail Base with Zinc Coated U-Bolt & 1" (Ball RAM-B-231ZU), two RAM Locking Knobs (RAM-KNOB3LU), and a RAM Locking Cradle for the Apple iPad 2 (RAM-HOL-AP8LU).

Installed the new parts, everything went together easily, although the clearance is minimal around the wheel the parts didn’t interfere with the movement of the chair. As I used the RAM Mount Seat Clamp Mount, it needed to be secured to the wheelchair arm with a hose clamp. To keep the material around the mount from being damaged I wrapped a piece of duct tape around the mount, then placed the hose clamp around the arm of the chair and the mount. To meet nursing home requirements, I had to wrap the hose clamp with duct tape to make sure there were no sharp edges. Unfortunately, the only duct tape I had at the time was silver. I’m planning on covering up the silver duct tape with black duct tape in the next couple of days. Overall, the final try worked great! I’m not sure if the cradle is meant to be rotated on the RAM Mount Seat Clamp Mount, but by doing so it allows the installation to meet all of the nursing home requirements.

I like to shoot videos for youtube driving various vehicles and farm equipment. I needed a hands free method so I could keep both hands steering or working controls of the vehicle or machine.

I had been impressed with the strength and durability of the Ram mount that came with my Trimble Ezee Guide GPS system used in the tractors. So the Ram suction camera mount looked like a good alternative to hold my panasonic TZ1 digital camera while shooting video.

It holds the camera solid and gives a reasonable range of adjustment. So far I am impressed with it.

MONTANA 600 AND SHORT RAM MOUNT

Being new to ATVing and back roads trail riding in New Brunswick I found myself concerned with how many turns I took and hoped that my memory could get me out of the woods.

Needless to say it wasn’t long before I started searching for an appropriate GPS unit. As usual my search started and finished with GPScity.ca. I pondered for a week using their vast knowledge, Q and A section where I decided on the Garmin Montana 600 with RAM Mount.

This unit and the Topo Canada maps allow me to track all adventures so that I can enjoy the outdoors riding at the same time finding my way back. I was able to personalize menus and shortcuts for quick access on the trails. The short RAM mount positions and safely secures the Montana right in the perfect spot for the driver. It has been a great addition to my new Can-Am Outlander!

This is my third GPS purchased with GPDCity.ca and I have never been let down.

Most emergency management types have governmental backing to professionally set up their vehicles
to respond to all types of emergencies. Storm chasers and volunteer fire / EMS types have to pay
for equipment out of their own pocket. This usually leads to cheap GPS pucks with wires running
everywhere and I didn't want that. I needed a minimum of 3 GPS units in the Tahoe to properly run
things: one is a dash navigator that is tied to the ham radio via a data interface. This system looks and
acts like a typical dash navigator with one very important difference doesn't just tell me where I am it
will tell YOU where I am. (go to APRS.fi and search for my callsign WX4EMT-9) If you have a similar
system it will also show me where YOU are on the navigator screen in real time. It is called APRS
Automatic Position Reporting System and is indispensable during storm chases and emergencies. The
other is a Uniden scanner that hooks to a GPS to tune in systems near you and shut off stuff you can't
hear anyway. BUT the 3rd system attaches to the on-board computer and is hands down the most
important GPS in the vehicle. This GPS provides location LAT / LON to the on-board weather data
gathering and reporting system. These real time reports are sent to National Weather Service and Storm
Prediction Center as well as to local Emergency Management. These reports must be accurate not only
in their content but in their location so that storm warnings will be accurate and save lives.

The puck system simply would not do so I opted for bulkhead mounts. I elected to use 2 US GlobalSAT
MR350P's as they are versatile, and tough. One is for SERIAL interface the other is for USB interface
and the radome / antenna housing is low profile and almost indestructible. The units mounted easily
and has a very professional low profile look. Hopefully by storm season this chase unit will be ready
to go and if severe weather is bearing down on you we can track it accurately with the
US Global SAT GPS systems so that you will be properly warned and can take action to be safe.

I have mounted a Garmin Oregon 450 on my CANAM 400 ATV using the RAM mount and holder. I bought the Oregon 450 as it is easier to use than the Etrex Legend HCx. The 450 is all touch screen. I mounted it on the windshield support frame. I did not use the "u" bolt, as I do not have any room left on the handle bars. The 1" ball mount is bolted directly to this frame. It is easier to see and helps to keep my eyes on the trail. See submitted pictures. I recommend the screen protector for the dusty trails, as you may end up scratching your screen. I purchased the 4 G card, as it will hold more information. Downloading the maps from my computer was easy.

The staff at GPS City were great in helping me get exactly what I wanted and even suggested some additional items. They wanted me to be happy with what I ordered and were not just trying to make a sale. I was so impressed that I have passed along their website to all my friends and family, as I know they will get great service.
The last words are: Go out and enjoy the trails and be safe.

I recently purchased an ATV and took out my old Garmin eTrex Legend HCx GPS to map the trails around my home, the device was just loosely attached to the handlebars and the screen was damaged as a result. I then purchased a new Garmin Dakota 10 GPS and got the RAM mount from GPScity.ca which has worked out great, the mount installed in less than 5 minutes and its flexible enough to place the GPS where you need it and it can be easily tightened to where it'll stay in place and not move even on long bumpy rides.

GEOCACHING, ONLY TO FIND AN OWL

I was geocaching using an etrex 30 on a nice fall afternoon along a trail in Cape Breton and was fortunate enough to get close enough to snap a picture of an owl enjoying the afternoon sun.

GARMIN 62S MOUNT ON ARCTIC CAT TZ1

Garmin GPSMAP 62s mounted with am Ram RAP-B-138U kit on my 2008 Arctic Cat TZ1 and hard wired directly to the battery. This places it on a stable surface and in good view of the rider. There very little vibration and screen is easy to see. Also unit is protected from the wind. Power plug kept vibrating out of power outlet when traveling this solved that issue.

Looking for a non-marring and non-clamping way to mount a Contour camera on my bicycle. Most of the Contour mounts are a bit less than stellar. With a combination of parts from GPSCity and RAM I was able to make extremely stable mounts for my Contour cameras on my MTB.

There is no real story behind this mount. I was looking for something to mount my phone on my motorcycle. I stumbled on this rubber base mount so I decided to get one. Ram mount doesn't have any nice cradle for my Sprint phone (EVO 4G) so I got cheap ebay cradle for 5$ and mounted on 1" Diamond plate. I used also short metal arm and Motorcycle Fork Stem Base with 1 inch Ball. All works like it should, there is no vibrations, all is visible and hidden from the wind. I'm very happy with this product and I would recommend this for the others.

ON THE TRAIL IN PINERY PROVINCIAL PARK

I got my Garmin nuvi 1350 for Father's day this year and liked it so much when I was driving that I also wanted to take it with me when I went biking with the family. So I went online and found the RAM Mount Garmin nuvi 1300 Bike Mount (RAP-274-1-GA34U) at gpscity.ca.

I was very impressed on how quickly it shipped, and how easy the product was to install. I've had the mount for a few weeks now and I love it! I've taken it on bike trails, and most recently on a camping trip to Pinery Provincial Park. Other people seem impressed with it too. The usual reaction when they see it is "Is that a GPS?....on your bicycle?"

I'm now looking for a camera mount so that i can take videos of the family bike rides. Looks like I might need a bigger handlebar for my bicycle...hahaha

Got a new toy. A Cadillac STS-V With C5 Z06 Corvette engine, And wanted something to see and log real time data of my track times and just normal driving. I did not want to spend 2000 on a ODB tool. I already had a Xoom, and came across the RAM Mounts. I ordered the parts i wanted. Got them installed. I bought Torque form the Android Market place for my xoom and a scantool Bluetooth ODB2 Reader. Now i have a real time monitor for my car, and only spent about $350 to do it. I liked it so much i even got one for my truck.

I am now able to see what my engine is doing and how good it is performing in real time.

I use my Garmin Maps GPS 60CSx for mapping my bicycle rides throughout Thailand. I used a Ram-B-231-L with an oversized U-Bolt to wrap UNDER the short term that protrudes forward that attaches my handlebars to the steering stem.

This positioned my Ram B-sized 1" ball perfectly. My Garmin Maps GPS then attaches to ball, nestled between my two forward flashing strobe safety lights, which can also be switched to solid beam.

Due to the heat in Thailand, I ride many long distances at night. The GPS 60CSx is fantastic in that the variable display backlighting can be throttled down to 15%, perfect for reading without blowing out my night vision. If I mark a Waypoint, then I stop and key in crucial information.
All works well!

Product works well, though I'd like to see some options made available rather than forcing one to buy items we don't need (I bought the low profile side holders and now I have the regular clamps - the ones automatically included with the order - doing nothing).

I'll agree with John to a point; the laptop doesn't block my view, but I think I'll cut down the pole down a bit to make it sit lower. I also found the instructions to be a bit vague at points and had some errors (you'll need a 10mm wrench to remove the seat bolts, not a 15mm). Nothing that should prevent anyone from completing the install, however.

Definitely a good buy!

RADAR DETECTOR MOUNT ON HONDA GOLDWING

I purchased the Escort Solo S2 cordless radar detector and mounted it to my '08 Honda Goldwing using the Ram RAP-300-1U Power Plate III magnetic holder. The magnets hold the detector securely in place without additional straps or bands. Removal is as easy as grabbing the detector and twisting it on the base to release the magnetic grip.

The only thing I added was an earbud that plugs into the radar detector that allows me to hear the radar detector beeps and chirps inside the helmet when wind and road noise become a factor.

EMS LAPTOP MOUNTS

I recently purchased 3 Ram mounts to be installed in Ambulances. When I received the mounts had a problem installing them because of the makeup of the console in the rigs. We wanted the passenger to be able to use the laptops in route to a call and when returning. We had to make our own base mount to attach to the console. Picture enclosed. These mounts meet our needs and the laptop can be easily removed.
I have also attached a photo of the laptop ready to go.

After searching for gas stations while touring along the Blue Ridge Parkway, calling for roadside assistance somewhere in Tennessee and not knowing exactly where I was at (Well, there's a cornfield on the left...a cornfield on the right, too. Does that help?), and having my meticulously compiled paper directions melt away in a thunderstorm four hours into a week-long tour, I figured I'd better get a GPS. I settled on a Garmin Nuvi 550.

After some research, I decided the RAM system turned out to be the best mounting solution. Solid, dependable, and clean looking. I've been using it for several years now without a single problem.

I just ordered up a mount for my motorcycle and will soon be ordering another one for my Spot II satellite messenger.

GPS RAM MOUNT ON YAMAHA FJR1300

I have always wanted to mount my car GPS on Yamaha FJR1300. So purchased Tom Tom with suction mount. This didn't always stay stuck onto the inside of the windshield so went looking for alternatives that still allowed the GPS to be high and centred above the instruments.

Purchased Ram mounting base plate and ball and pop rivetted it the fairing. Attached standard double B clamp and then the holder and diamond plate with ball to complete the set up.

Works Fantastic!! Stays stable on rough roads and easy to see.

I've ordered another mounting plate for my newer XXL Tom Tom.

No real 'story' to tell...ordered the RAM B 309 reservoir mounting kit, short connecting arm, GPS cradle mount for my Magellan 4000 and the self-leveling cup holder.

Had my tools ready when Fedex showed up Wednesday morning. Watched the well-documented videos beforehand and was ready to go. The 309-7 mounted, replacing the clutch screws (included)on my 2001 Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide in, well, under 5 minutes. The GPS back plate to mount the Magellan cradle fit perfectly...screws included.

Took it for a short spin; indeed, the rubber balls do minimize vibration transference. Also, after the trip, the short mount arm I used was in the exact position it was when I began and was just as tight.

If you are considering the RAM product line for your motorcycle, ATV, car, etc and are hesitant...fear no more. This is the coolest mounting system on the market - 2nd best is miles away. Once you have the 309 on the bike, the sky is the limit...they make a device mount for just about everything.

RAM MOUNT FOR FUJITSU LIFEBOOK U810

Everyone said I should, so I did.

Used to keep book after book of Maps in the car. Provence Maps, State Maps, Local regional Maps. All with little highlighted routes and favorite (twisty) roads saved on them. All my friends told me I should get a GPS. Said it would be easier.

When I finally did, It was in the form of a little UMPC computer. A Fujitsu Lifebook with built in GPS. Trouble was, how do I keep the darn thing from flying all over the car while driving those twisty roads..

Ah ha! Ram Mount here we come.

Google told me that Gpscity had the best selection of mounts, friends told me they had the best service. Simple math told me they also had the best prices.

A few days later, Model: RAM-B-316-1-FUJ2 SKU:RAMB316-1FUJ2 arrived on my door. Fast delivery, easy to install.

Its been almost a year and I use it every day.

Thanks again!

In a boat, you have to keep everything secure. I have called on RAM mounts to secure several items on board. The RAM system is so flexible, and given that you can purchase the needed items as separate parts, I have found no equal to mounting needed items in the boat.

Safe and secure. You don't want everything flying around on a boat.

One of the better RAM systems is the 109 arms. They are very heavy duty, and do a great job in keeping stuff secure.

I secure my cell phone below decks with a universal 1.5" ball mount arm so that it stays safe and secure. I bluetooth the audio and mic for the cell phone to a handset at the helm.

I built several mounts out of 109 series components for my speakers and flat-screen TV. This is the real advantage of the RAM system - you can make exactly what you need from the literally hundreds of individual components available.

Ready to explore

ATVing is great fun, but in Northern Ontario the old trails criss cross all over and start to look similar after a while. A GPS is a must in this part of the country, but driving a Thunder Cat ATV is a 2 handed task!

I needed a reliable and easy to install mount for my GPS. This mount holds steady in all sorts of terrain and keeps my GPS safe and in plain sight.

SPORT RIDING WITH GPS II

I needed the gas tank free and decided to purchase the RAM Mount Aluminum Motorcycle Fork Stem Base with 1 inch Ball, installation couldn't have been easier...a great universal stem mount solution, places the GPS in the sightlines for the speedo and tach, perfect with a 4" stem for me, and puts the GPS screen under the double bubble windscreen, giving me glare-free performance. Love the RAM mounts!

I recently bought the Nuvi 3790T to replace my Nuvi 760. I really like the 3790T for the screen resolution which is very nice and the speed of the redraw while navigating (no jaggy).

Like to have traffic info and thanks it's now working in Montreal! Now they just need to add the Jacques-Cartier and the Victoria bridges to the traffic data so we can track the traffic for these 2 bridges.

On photo 1 in the morning I plug the Nuvi into a AC-DC power outlet and while breakfast I can check the traffic before leaving home. On the other picture you can see some traffic information and my route to work.

I also like the traffic trend and mytrend features which give you route alternative to go back to destination.

Con:
The unit look to be fragile a bit so I take good care for not dropping it.

The screen is very nice but finger prints also like it !

AWESOME MOUNTS!!!!

I searched around forever to find a mount for my GPS that I could use on both my bicycles, and my motorcycle. I enjoy riding long distances on both, and have been lost many times. But now that I have a new 11 month old daughter to tow behind me it is more important than ever to know where I am going!

I purchased the Ram Bicycle kit for mu NUVI 500 to attach to my commuter bicycle, and 2 more ball mounts. One for my Trek road race bike, and one for my 2000 Harley Davidson. I love this product on all three! Thanks Ram, and GPS city!

MOBILE OFFICE GEAR THAT CAN SAVE A LAPTOP

I use my 06 GMC Sierra Pick Up as a mobile office. I bought my Ram Laptop mount and phone cradle about 2 years ago. They have served me well. I am in sales and I traverse across rough terrain around construction sites like power plants and steel mills. After having my laptop hit the floor board a few times I knew it was time to seek a solution for securing it while it was running before it died a sure death. This setup is absolutely worth every penny. I have added the flat side leg keepers so I can shut the laptop while traveling. Common sense and company policy require the laptop to be in standby mode while traveling. The Ram Phone cradle is equally as tough as the laptop mount. It secures the phone in the roughest of terrain. Thank You RAM and GPS City for adding precious time to the life of my phone and laptop.

Several of my flying buddies and I had an awesome flight over Newberry Crater in Central Oregon. Though we were flying in late Spring there was still plenty of snow. The lake with no ice is Paulina Lake. Even though it is at the same elevation as East Lake, it clears of ice faster because it has more warm water springs feeding it from below the surface.

Traveling over inhospitable terrain often requires us to follow roads or hop from one potential landing sight to another. We rely heavily on the accuracy and readability of our GPSs to keep us on course and save fuel. My Ram mount is rock solid and does a terrific job of dampening the vibrations of my Powered Parachute. I like Rams so much that I have a whole collection of them. I use them on my land-sailer, motorcycle, bicycle, car, and truck.

Safe Travels,
Jerry

KAYAK RAM MOUNT

RAM Mount

Just received my new RAM Mount and promptly attached it to my favorite boat. Here’s my Garmin eTrex Vista HCx attached to the kayak using the RAM Mount. I took it for a test spin this afternoon on Flint Creek. The viewing distance and accessibility were good. My main concern was that it would interfere with paddling or launching/landing. I was pleased when I completed the test run without bumping the GPS a single time. The mount was surprisingly solid and well made. Now I just need to save a few more bucks so I can add a mount to each of my other boats.

The RAM mount allows easy view and access to the Magellan eXplorist 200 GPS when I am trail riding. It is very solid mount. Recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 765T, but didn't like the windshield mount that came with the unit. I wanted to find a way to mount the unit to the center console in my 2002 Toyota Tacoma, but at first I was having a difficult time finding the solution.

Fortunately, I came across GPS City, and within a few minutes I found exactly what I needed - - The RAM Mount with Screw Down Plate for the Garmin Nuvi 7xx series (Model RAM-B-138-GA26U). The GPS City web site had all the information I needed to make my decision, such as diagrams, measurement details, and great videos that demonstrate and explain the product very well. I found the videos also helped to give me a better idea of the overall physical appearance and characteristics of the RAM Mount.

I elected to go with the Screw Down Plate, because even though my truck is already 9 years old, I don't have any plans of getting rid of it within the next few years (these days not having a car payment is great!). So for that reason, I don't mind having a three small holes in the console.

The first photo shows the area on my Tocoma's forward center console where I planned to install the unit, just below the radio. The Screw Down Plate of the RAM Mount has the perfect size to fit nicely on the small square area just forward of the 4X4 shift lever. Note the two spare cigarette lighter style power jacks, one of which would be used for my Garmin, and the other would still be free for other uses.

The second photo shows the completed installation, with my Garmin Nuvi in place.

The third photo (although a little hard to see) shows a right side view of the installation. I used velcro cable ties to bundle the Garmin power cord and FM unit along the "neck" of the RAM Mount. The excess power cabling has been tucked under the center console.

This weekend I took my first short trip to a nearby state park with new Garmin and RAM Mount setup. I am very pleased with the RAM Mount, and impressed by it's stability. The RAM Mount's rubber ball joints allow for a wide variety of adjustments and angles, but also deliver a system that is rock solid and there is no slipping of the ball joints once the unit is tightened.

The location where I installed this setup worked out to have an additional advantage... I can rest my hand on the 4X4 shift knob, while my index finger has an easy reach to the Garmin unit's touch screen.

I would strongly recommend RAM Mounts to anyone needing a mounting system that is flexible, has very high quality materials, and a great price. Thanks GPS City and RAM Mounts!!

A HANDY TOOL TO HAVE

I own a Garmin Gps, and I have to say I am very pleased with the options it provides, and how accurate it is. I have learned to use the many options it has, and have found places that I never knew existed but definitely worth the trip to see the place.

Just recently I was out and about looking for a new campsite to try out,...found a couple online to go look at, but when I got in the area of the great lakes, I decided to try my gps, and thanks to my Garmin, I was able to check out 4 different campsites I never knew were there.

I would definitely recommend a GPS to everyone - it seems to be a tool needed nowadays.

My husband and I also take it on hikes with us, as it has a feature to change to walking pace as well. Very handy to have and we will never get lost again.

I already have a forward facing RAM mount for my digital camera so I thought it would be nice to have one off the back of the bike, a BMW F800GS.

I had a bunch of RAM mounts from previous experiments so this is what I put together: it's a U bolt attachment to the footpeg bracket, with a 4" arm, double ball, then a short arm terminating with a camera mount ball under the Camera.

I really like the way it worked out - I was initially worried I might break the camera with my foot, forgetting it was there when getting off the bike but this has not happened yet.

Here's an example of the video I shot using the mount:

RAM GPS MOUNTS GO ANYWHERE

My Ram GPS mount holds my Lowrance H2O gps on every thing. It gets transferred from ATV to Motorcycle to Boat to Truck, it takes me to the Duck hunting spots in the dark hours of the morning and helps me find my way on back country rides through the woods. Ram Mounts are not a flimsy floppy thing, they are very sturdy and rock steady, they have to be for me.

GPS ON A NINJA

I just wanted to show off my Ram mount purchased from Express Mounts, it holds my Garmin Nuvi with ease and firmly keeps it into position. I usually plug my cable to the Nuvi into my power outlet and off I go on the trip. It has saved me from going the wrong direction countless times from roads that were not marked but the GPS always knows where I am. Thanks to Ram-Mounts there is no end to the possibilities to how items can be added.

Ever wondered what the actual size difference between the 1" ball size arm's really looks like? Well wonder no more! In the following four pictures you will see the difference between the three sizes in an Infiniti G35, right next to the main gauge console.

I personally use the standard 3 inch, RAM-B-201U arm in the G35. The other two sizes are either too short, or too long for my preferences. In a small car such as this, the long arm is just a little too long for the dashboard, and I feel it is a little too close. For a bigger car or SUV on the other hard with a larger dash surface, the long arm would be perfect. For a smaller car, the short arm may be preferable to your needs.

Check out the pictures!

Here we have the RAM-B-316-1U, RAM-B-230U, RAM-B-201U, and a RAM-B-202AU attached to a standard point and shoot digital camera. I frequently take my car to the race track, and I record my speedometer as well as my tachometer when on the track. The mount of course is not limited to just recording your dashboard gauges, you can always install a few extension pieces and the mount will be tall enough to record the car driving through the front windshield.

Using the mount when it is installed correctly (which takes less than 5 minutes with the correct size socket wrench) is extremely easy. You can always adjust where the camera is looking by loosing the knob on any arms you have attached. The whole setup is very solid, but make sure your base is not lose or else you will run into vibration and movement while recording.

The same mount is not just limited to camera use, it can be used with any RAM cradle to be used with GPS, phones, or anything you can think of!

Here are some pictures of both the camera setup installed in an Infiniti G35, as well as a Nuvi 660 installed onto the same mount, minus the extension pieces.

TOMTOM MOUNT IN HONDA ACCORD

Hi. Just want to say that the RAM mount for my TomTom Go 720 worked like a charm in our 2007 Honda Accord. The exact part number is RAM-B-316-1-TO6. I attached the bracket at the foot of the mount to the seat rail bolt. The attached photo shows how it is in a good position for the driver and the front passenger. (I haven't yet bothered to tuck away the 12V power wire). It is easy to rotate the GPS using the ball mount in behind the cradle. The height is good and it feels solid. Do take care removing and reinstalling the seat rail bolt. This is part of the safety system for the car (you don't want the seat to come apart from the floor in an accident). I ended up removing the washer from the bolt and using a washer under the RAM rod bracket (it all fit nicely together this way and left sufficient thread in the nut in the car floor). Cheers, Peter

IWAY 500C RAM MOUNTED ON HONDA VALKYRIE

I have a 2001 Honda Valkyrie Interstate I mounted a Lowrance iWay 500c GPS onto. As you know the iWay 500c is a very heavy (waterproof, rugged) unit. I also wanted it to always be in the same centered location (not on the handlebars). I used a combination of your RAM mount components to accomplish the mount I needed. As you can see in the photos, everything worked for an outstanding mount for my GPS. Thanks, Jackie

I use my Garmin 2730 in my 2000 Kenworth. I have it mounted to the dashboard in perfect reach & a great view with a ram mount. Thank God for Garmin & GPS City. Together we have traveled over 978000 miles, into every corner of the continental USA. I can’t count the number of times I would have been totally lost for hours without it! Not to mention together with XM radio it’s the perfect companion for the long miles. I also now have the Zumo again attached with ram mounts that I use in my Dodge Ram & also on my Yamaha Royal Star. I’ve created many locations & I can easily get back to any place I’ve saved. Including over 700 of my customers . My Zumo has the saved locations of all my friends & family & now I’m building the list of all my favorite fishing holes and camping spots not to mention some great motor cycle routes. Unfortunately even with all this technology from Garmin and XM navtraffic I’ve still found one area in need of improvement. As I came upon a road closed with construction, my 2730 detoured me around it but it was however unable to notify my of the low hanging telephone line overhead. OOOPS & OUCH. LOL :) Oh well! We’ll keep on going….

TOMTOM GO 510 WITH MAGNETIC MOUNT ON KAWASAKI NINJA 500R

This setup was made possible through the purchase of a TomTom GPS ram mount and a compatible tri-magnetic base from GPScity. Before placing my order I was afraid the magnets would not be strong enough to hold the rather heavy TomTom Go 510 in place, but after receiving the product I found that the quality magnetic base keeps my GPS securely in place over any ordinary bumps on the road and is also extremely portable. RAM UBOLT GAS TANK MOUNT FOR GARMIN C330 AND CAMERA ON 2001 HONDA VFR BIKE

I dont have all the parts info with me, but you can look up the parts I got under my name "karthik vugane" in your customer profile. I basically used the following:

1. a ball mount which you fit on the gas tank
2. a 5.25 inch ball mount adaptear on both sides
3. garmin c330 cradle with ball mount
4. a generic camcorder screw mount with ball.

The pictures should give you an idea of what part I am using. If you still need be to email you the actual parts, please let me know.

Thanks for doing a great job on this. I love my set up!

RAM FLEX LEG IN CAR MOUNT FOR GARMIN STREETPILOT 7200 IN A 2006 ACCORD

Here are some photos on my new GPS in my 2006 Accord. Special thanks to Chris (tech support) for recommending this RAM Mount. As you can see I had to bend to bracket slightly to fit under the seat bolt (I also replaced the bolt with a longer one since I lost some of the thread engagement due to the added thickness of the bracket and washers). I also added some one inch black corrugated split tubing over the arm to allow room for the cables (power, GA27C & GXM30 antennas, and audio line out). I added an auxiliary audio input to my stock stereo to accommodate the 7200’s audio output. This is a very impressive GPS not only the map display and the MP3 player, but the XM Radio and especially the NAV Traffic. I got on the freeway after church today listening to XM Radio and herd – “traffic ahead”. I tapped the yellow triangle on the display and saw an alert about a stalled car in the right lane a few miles ahead. I’m planning a 2,000 mile road trip in a few months and am really looking forward to it. If you have any questions about the installation, please let me know.

RAM UBOLT MOUNT WITH CAMERA AND PDA

Just a couple to post for you, the mounts are holding my Palm and my DV recorder. One plays the tunes, the other records a few of my more stupid moments. Oops did I say that? I meant the pretty roads I encounter....

RAM CLUTCH MOUNT FOR MAGELLAN AND LOWRANCE HANDHELD

Both mountings are on a '82 Honda Sabre (750) Note the mounting of the RAM-B-309-1U, This application did not use the spacers and mounted OVER the existing clamp. On some applications, you will need the spacers, the clamp should not touch the original clamp except on the flats. Do not attempt to use the base without the original clamp in place, it is not that strong.

Picture 1 and Picture 2 are a Magellan 330, Magellan mount, Steel plate adapter (mount is vertical pipe type clamp, I used a diamond of license plate material to make an adapter.), Ram-B-174U.

Picture 3 and Picture 4 are a Lowrance I-Go, Ram-HOL-L05U, and RAM-B-174U.

These are both very stable and vibration free.

RAM RAIL MOUNT FOR GARMIN STREETPILOT 2730 WITH XM ANTENNA MOUNT

Here is the page with the first pics I took of the mounting. I have since moved it to the left handle bar so it doesn't block the center warning lights. I also painted the Garmin antenna mount with a special paint Rust-O-Ileum makes for plastics, it matches the Ram parts exactly. I will send you some updated photos once I get it tweaked.

Thanks for all of your help. The 2730 is awesome.

RAM IN CAR LAPTOP MOUNT IN A DODGE VIPER GTS

I actually bought the SW2, but the height ended up being extreme, so I omitted the second swing arm. 97 Dodge Viper GTS.
