This GPS is for a dedicated user. You can do anything with this unit. Worth every penny. If you are driving, the external antenna is unbelievable for downtown driving under a dense tree canopy.
Still searching for the best program for residential adress searching.

Having problems with this unit shutting down on its own. Several others experiencing the same problem. If garmin can fix this it will be an excellent unit.
GPS City Comment: Dave - we have not had any complaints to this effect!

I own a Garmin 60cs and a Que 3600 The 60cs is perfect for geocaching but lacks a bit for automotive use in that it only has 56 meg of internal memory. This is fine if you are just driving around your state or province but for a longer trip you are having to add maps each night or when you route your trip you just have to add the maps along the planned route. This unit would have been perfect if they only would have added a sd memory card option. When I do go on a long trip now I hook up the 60cs to my laptop and use the Garmin Nroute program for voice guidance on the laptop The main advantage of the que3600 is its sd memory card slot and larger display than the 60cs Its disadvantage is that it can not be used as a gps receiver when hooked up to the laptop Having both units and a laptop and I pretty well have it covered

After extensively researching for the model I would like, I decided om the 60cs or 76cs and after seeing the two, I chose the 60cs for its compact feel and awesome features. The screens were the same size on both units, and after reading reviews on the 60cs I figured there would be easliy enough memory storage. And am I pleased! I have ihe Metroguide 4.0 and Topo maps and it is so neat to be able to just pick a city and address and it will automatically route to it.Let alone just exploring on the computer or Gps and finding Lakes I didn't even know existed! I downloaded the free nRoute software from Garmin and took my Laptop in the truck for a ride and I was amazed how slick that worked. The 60cs is sitting up on the window with the suction mount ( which I am very pleased with), and I had the Laptop on the seat and the voice prompting of the turns is first class! I was also amazed how quickly it reroutes! With this setup you don't even have to look at the gps or screen on the computer. I am having way to much fun!

I purchased the GPSMAP 60CS and enjoy it very much with the topo maps. But, I have found the memory to be disturbingly low. I recently purchased City Navigator for a simple 4 state road trip. The maps from City Navigator are too large and the 60CS will barely hold a single state. So, if you plan on using street software, get the 60CSx. Now I have a substantial investment in a GPS unit and software which are useless together. Very disappointed that these ares are discussed from Garmin or gpscity.com
