LOST NO MORE
Pros: works with big hands Cons: hard to see when your eyesight is going(glasses wo
I have recently repurchased my 60CSx. My first one was stolen 1 week before going hunting and i depend on this unit very much for hunting as well around locally for finding local streets and address's. Even though it has been replaced with the 62 Series, i bought another like my old one. Don't leave home without it.

EXCELLENT GPS FOR DEEP IN FOREST
Pros: excellent antenna. long battery life. Cons: none i have found.
I bought this GPS for the ultra sensitive antenna it has. I was not let down. I had been using another brand GPS that would lose its lock on the satelite if I left the trail. The 60CSx not only retained its lock on the satelite, it got me within 10 feet of the point I wanted to be at under complete tree cover. This unit will even give me a location +/- 9ft when I am sitting at my computer inside the house! I've run this unit now for probably 6 hours and the battery indicator has not dropped from a full charge yet - my old unit was lucky to last 2 hours on a set of batteries.

A SOLID PERFORMER AND EXCELLENT CHOICE
Pros: sturdy and functional. good maps. Cons: no free map upgrades. basecamp not intuitive.
I have few complaints about this unit in fact it is the second 60CSx that I have purchased. I use the Topo Canada Map and have found it to be for the most part accurate, although at times difficult to read (understandable given the display size and my aging eyes). This unit is a very solid performer, does what it is supposed to do and generally manages to obtain a signal, even under trying conditions.
The biggest aggravation with this Unit is Base Camp. While an improvement over Mapquest, this program still leaves something to be desired, especially in uploading and downloading data and avoiding redundancy of routes and waypoints. This is especially problemmatic when using the unit and syncing with both a laptop and desktop. Documentation is sparse, as are tutorials, and the Help menu frequently does not address the specific issue. To be fair, this is not an issue with the GPS, but it does limit it's functionality.
Overall, I would highly recommend this unit.

STILL THE BEST
Better than the Oregon et Colorado. Very resistant. I have one on my VTT since 3 years and it works like a new one. I buy this one for a friend. Le meilleur GPS fabriqué par Garmin. Si on pouvait lui mettre la boussole du 62 CSX, ce serait la machine parfaite. Robustesse, fiabilité, précision, tout ce qu'il faut pour le plein air.

I just recently bought the GPSMAP 60CSx to replace the one that was stolen from my truck. The insurance company gave me the opportunity to upgrade if I wanted by paying the difference, but I liked the 60CSx so much that I decided to re-buy the exact same product.

GREAT GPS
Pros: user-friendly,great reception, nice features. Cons: none
This GPS is way better than the Magellan Explorist 500 that I previously used. The menu is easy to understand and the Gps60csx is just loaded with nice features like a barometer and compass that works when standing still (unlike my magellan...) I very easily loaded maps into the unit and I would like to point out that it is possible to use many maps at once and "overlap" them if needed, and that's really nice! As others noted, the reception of this GPS is extremely good, and it acquires satellites very quickly. The unit is well-built and the battery compartment seals nicely, making me confident that it will easily handle rain and the occasional bigger splashes that could occur.Speaking of batteries, they last surprisingly LONG compared to my older unit (the Magellan explorist 500 drained batteries very quickly). I recommend this unit, absolutely! Gpscity.ca shipped very quickly to Montreal,Qc , the products (I also ordered a Ram-Mount wich is also very nice) were as I ordered (and not broken!) and the price was also good.

GARMIN GPSMAP 60CSX
Pros: easy to use, sturdy, accurate Cons: display backlighting a little bit weak.
I bought the 60CSx to do some off-trail hiking in the Rocky mountain national Park - I installed the 24K Colorado Utah topo map in micro SD card. I previously owned a eTREX Vista C. The 60Csx was out-of-stock when I ordered it and was delivered quite late (but on the delivery date promised by GPSCity), so I didn't had much time to go through the owner's manual. However, the 60CSx was very easy to use and the keypad navigation through the menus and pages very intuitive. The signal reception is very good, I could acquire 7 or 8 satellites inside my house or in a moving car and I never lost the signal anywhere in the park. As for battery consumption, I used 2 regular AA Duracell batteries per 2 and half days of hiking with an average of 10 hours/day of the GPS ON. The display is easy to read in bright sunlight but in the shade, I found the backlighting adjust inefficient.I use cheap 4 GB HP microcards for storage without any problem. The map downloading is quite slow I took me 1 hour 19 minutes to download the 24 K topo map from Minnesota from my computer (Dell T5550 workstation, windows 7 pro) to the 60Csx, but I am doing the downloading at night. I didn't try any complicated tracking or routing during my vacation. All that I needed was a paperless map telling where I was and where to go, and the GPSmap 60CSx did it easily and flawlessly. I thus recommend the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx.

MOST VERSATILE
Pros: user friendly. very accurate and sensitive Cons: bigger screen would be nice
I have been using the map60 csx since it came out. The unit is without a doubt miles ahead of the competition. I used my unit on hunting trips, canoeing, rafting, hiking, mountain climbing and boating. It preforms well everywhere. I used it at work for SAR and grow ops search (I'm a cop) and I gave one to a friend of mine who is with CF in Afghanistan. It is user friendly, and easy to learn. The antaena is very sensitive and I always get good accuracy under the thickest of cover. Do not buy anything else.

The GPS MAP60CSx is more sensitive than my previous MAP60CS The tiny data card gave me a few headaches until I saw the very tiny print (near the data card) and arrow showing the direction for a tiny movement to lock the data card in place. This was not obvious in the manual.

Pros: easy to use, awsome satellite reading.
I love this gps. My father has a Lowrance, he is now jealous of mine. Its so easy to use, I read the manual to familiarize myself with the unit and that was it.
My primary use is going to be on snowmobile. I've already used it to find my way around the mountains. used it to mark the portages and cabins that i use around the bays.
I turned the unit on in the apartment and it located itself on the satellites.
I love it and would definitely recommend it.

HIKER, DIRT ROAD TRAVELER
I found the unit excellent and an improvement in reception from my very good Etrex legend I used for some time now and wanted to get the added features. Briefly, it acquires quickly under adverse conditions and is more precise,(especially using an aux. antenna). The screen is easier to see,and detail is good, also has a declutter option! The downloads are much faster with the USB/ or 4pin. Individual routes can be different colours which helps with viewing on large scales or overlap. Battery life is good even with hi-draw less efficent set-up, if using 2 AA rechargeable Lithium,(recommend using the highest mini- amp rating available, got 2800 now, and buy a 4pak for insured backup) The altimeter is handy if following a topo map for comparison and reference. The Rocker button is real handy for zipping off route to view close by features and return instantly with the Quit button to current position. I'm still learning and using the unit and there is much to see. The micro memory chip is a good feature but if using preloaded map data, use of saved data or upload can be a problem in several ways, read the manual. The unit is great, and I recommend it highly. Don't get me wrong, but I must mention the only drawback and it isn't in the hardware but in the Garmin mapping data in my area of Eastern Canada. There is much better current topo mapping data available but Garmin falls noticeably short in this regard.
