The Garmin GTM 10 is an FM-band traffic receiver (American Version Only) that, when installed between one’s automotive radio system and antenna, provides realtime traffic information to compatible Garmin GPS automotive navigation products.

Using this data, compatible Garmin products can alert the user to local traffic tie-ups and display graphical map symbols for improved driver situational awareness.

The GTM 10 works with your Garmin GPS to display traffic events and enable re-routing. The FM TMC traffic information is received through radio signals transmitted by independent service providers. With the GTM 10 in your vehicle, you can see traffic problems down the road and avoid them!

SUBSRIPTION INFORMATION:
The GTM 10 FM traffic receiver will come with a 15-month trial subscription to Clear Channel TMC.

To renew a subscription, visit the FM TMC Traffic Service section on the Garmin Web site (www.garmin.com). Complete the steps to purchase a 25-character code and enter it into the Garmin unit. The cost for a 1-year subscription is $60.00.

USING TRAFFIC DATA WITH GARMIN GPS:
The map on the Garmin GPS will display icons that represent traffic events.

For example, the map might show a construction symbol meaning that roadwork is in progress in that area. The symbols vary by region but are highly recognizable. Each traffic event is displayed in a list in the Garmin unit. You can read the list for incidents in your path and in your area. If you are navigating a route, the GPS device gives you the option to alter your route and avoid traffic incidents.

NOTE: This part number is designed for use in the USA only. A different part number will be sold in Europe.

GTM 10 FM TMC Installed Traffic Receiver features

The GTM 10 FM traffic receiver will only receive traffic information in select USA cities. The Garmin GTM Traffic Receiver coverage page shows all of the city areas where the FM-Band Traffic Receiver is available.

On this page, you can click on the individual city links to see what areas are covered. On each city map, the green color denotes the area of coverage.

INSTALLATION OF THE GARMIN GTM 10:
The Garmin GM 10 FM TMC Traffic Receiver must be installed between your vehicle radio and it's antenna. Using the cables supplied*, unplug the existing antenna cable from your radio and connect the the GTM 10 Radio Out connector. Now connect the GTM 10 Radio In connector, with supplied cables (extra cables may be required), to the antenna cable end.
The 1.5m Mini USB Cable from the GTM 10 can now be connected to your compatible GPS unit.
