I purchased the iQue M5 from GPS City a few months ago. I also bought the travel kit. Now I don't go anywhere without it. It's very simple to use and even easier to understand when it's given voice directions. When it's connected to the travel kit the voice is loud enough so I don't even have to adjust the car's radio. And if you should have a problem the people at Garmin are very friendly and helpful tool. The iQue M5 is a great item and I strongly recommend it for anyone who likes to know where they are and how to get to the next place they're going.

I purchased the iQue M5 so I could have two devices in one. I needed the PocketPC PDA and also a 12 channel GPS.

I had a lock-up problem with the device the day after I got it (my fault) but an email and call to Garmin set it straight. Garmin support is quick to assist and solve your problems. Thumbs up to Garmin support!!

I first used the device on a trip from Regina-Saskatoon-Regina on Mother's Day. It was easy to use. It recalculated the routes when I went a different way. It told me about every turn and distance to next town. The iQue M5 is the perfect choice for the constant traveller and roaming salesman.

Turn announcements are very clear and easy to hear over road noise and are given with plenty of notice.

Only problem with this unit is direct sunlight. The display is hard to see and a little too reflective. Only thing missing is WiFi.

My iQue will be going with me to Dallas. No need to carry that big laptop now. I'll always know where I am when I'm lost :) and with added Wifi, I'll be able to keep in touch with the family at home.

I would recommend using a 64MB or larger SD card for uploading maps. I'll be buying a 256MB Card with WiFi when I get to the States.

PROS - easy to use device. Rating - high 5 rating from this guy. Must have - 64MB SD card and Wifi. CONS - hard to see direct sunlight and screen too reflective.

GPS City: Add Canada to your 'State' listing. We up here use your devices too.

Great job Garmin!

Update on my iQue M5. I now have Wifi. I purchased the WL11 from AmbiCom and it works great. The WL11 does not have any memory but and is 802.11b only but it is adequate for getting on the Internet from airports and hotels to check your messages. Check out the WL11 at: http://www.ambicom.com/products/wave2net/wl11-sd.html

One MAJOR fault of the iQue M5 is the fact that it does not have route uploads and downloads.

I have been using the M5 for many road trips and it works very well.

If you want route uploads/downloads, the iQue M5 is not the GPS PocketPC for choice.

Set up with software and maps was terrible for the average person. Garmin help was as usual on holidays. I am not sure which holiday!! The new IQue 4 comes with maps already loaded well that is for a good reason. Took three days to figure problems out. Unit freezes up all the time and needs to be reset. If you do not need a PDA go with the GPSMap 76c. It is much more effective for field work and makes sense to the average person. Also as usual the vehicle mounting package is created for a cars and cities not trucks and trails. Going to have to upgrade to a RAM mount. Good luck trying to install the Version 7 maps. Not impressed with Garmins newest line of GPS's. At least the old ones worked great.

I recently purchased one and have been extremely pleased with the gps functionality. I haven't had to reboot it even once whereas the HP/Compaq iPaq I was using with an HP bluetooth GPS unit needed rebooting constantly. (Having 2 separate units was a bit inconvenient as well). I also like the way Garmin has integrated the pda functions (meetings, contacts) with the gps. Map coverage is incredible..with a 1 gigabyte SD card I can load all of Canada and the eastern US. The audio in the car charger unit is excellent and I appreciate the fact that the battery is user changeable. It would be nice if it processed a little faster though..Thanks Garmin, for a GREAT unit.
