Cons: screen brightness & traffic information
Works pretty much as advertised. However, maximum screen brightness is insufficient which makes it hard to see in bright sunlight. Traffic information could be a lot more accessible.

NOT TOO SLOW ANYMORE!
Pros: compass
This is an update to a prior post. Last night I found a different way to reset the unit. What a difference! The same routes that were taking much longer than 10 minutes to calculate now take 10 to 15 seconds! Thus, it appears that some settings in the unit were causing the problems. I've changed all the settings back to what I like, and I still have the same quick calculation time! What I did was press the power button and then hold the bottom right hand corner of the screen for quite a few seconds until it asked if I wanted to delete all user data. I clicked yes. That didn't seem to do anything, but when I clicked it numerous times and held it, it eventually rebooted. After that it worked fine. I don't know what this reset does that the other reset through the menus failed to do, but it is a drastically different machine.
One other point of interest for Canadians. There are no speed limits in the machine. This has been tested in western Manitoba, southern alberta, and southern bc and the island. There are speed limits in Washington. They can be input if desired. It gets tedious after a while, so I don't input them anymore.

TOO SLOW
Pros: works well on trips under 2 or 3 hours in length Cons: too slow to calculate on long trips
This is an update to a prior review....
I've had more time with this GPS and I'm downgrading my rating. To calculate a route from Langley BC to Calgary AB (a 10 hour drive) takes just over 15 minutes. This is with my Trends and everything I can think of disabled. Turning off the voice commands makes no difference in calculation time. To calculate this route with some avoidances enabled, takes 17 minutes and around 20 seconds. If traveling, it is frustrating because I can easily travel 30 km while it is calculating a route, and once it calculates it and realizes that I am not where I was when it started the calculation (and perhaps already missed a turn), it starts recalculating again. I resorted to paper maps on my trip.
It works OK for geocaching when the geocaches are more than ~50 m from the road. Otherwise the GPS "snaps" to the road even when you aren't on it. There may be a way to disable this, but I don't know how.

OK GPS
Pros: compass Cons: very slow to calculate long routes
I bought this GPS to replace a stolen 1350. Here's what I know. The screen is not as bright.
1) I compared it to my father's 1350, and 100% brightness on the 2360 is equal to 60% on the 1350. I had the first GPS replaced on account of this, but the 2nd was no better. Neither one was as bright as the demo one at the store I purchased from. They inquired with Garmin and learned that the screens had been upgraded. 2) To calculate a 1000 km route is much slower than my old 1350. I haven't directly compared them, but the 2360 is ridiculous. It is already over 5 minutes calculating a route between Calgary and Langley, and it is only at 51%. 3) Traffic Trends and all the fancy features are disabled to speed up calculation time. So even though it has them, I'm not able to use them! 4) I really like the compass. I've got 2500 geocaches loaded into it with GSAK running the Nuvi60CsxGarminCsvPoiExport.gsk macro and Garmin's POI loader. It can load over 256 characters into the title and comment fields. I haven't used it to find any geocaches yet, but I've marked a spot in the yard, and I can easily return to within 5 yards of it in pedestrian mode. I don't see why it won't work. I guess I'll find out during vacation. Garmin could make it work a whole lot better if they added a few more zoom levels, but I think it zooms just barely enough to be useful. 5) The voice commands work OK. It is easily confused by background voices from my kids. But it works well enough that I really wish it was programmed with additional commands. It just has the basics.

GPS NUVI 2360LMT
Pros: trip planner-which is not really necessary Cons: no compass display, alert beep prior to speaking.
Compared to the Nuvi 350 the 2360 unit has some new features that are excellent. However, they have made it less user friendly. For example, more steps are required to enter via points. Also the compass display and the alert beep prior to speaking have been eliminated. Going through the major road (401) through Toronto, it continually tries to take you on the collector lanes instead of the express route. This is absolutely wrong. I find we need to touch the screen far more often than before. Now to find hotel, fuel and restaurants there is a sub category called Point of Interest which is an extra step. In summary, the old features on the Nuvi 350 are outstanding and it was convenient to use compared to this unit. Over the last 5 years we have travelled extensively in the US and Canada and really relied on the Nuvi 350 and now we have concerns with the 2360 model. We are experienced travellers.

BEST GPS EVER 2360 LMT
Pros: voice comands, detail in directions. Cons: none as yet
After owning two other GPS this one is a treat. The voice prompt is the ultimate would never be without again, even with the radio on and fan on high no problem. The detail in directions is second to none and the screen is a treat. I have just used it on my 1st western Canada trip and have yet to find a fault with the maping. The traffic warnings are awesome and it even tells you about red light cameras well in advance. BEST unit I have had I guess thrid ones a charm.

GREAT GPS UNIT
Pros: does it all Cons: have to learn to talk carefully for voice command.
I bought this to replace the 255w that is still working great. However the 2360 does everything the old unit plus lots more. Blue tooth to connect to a phone for hands free, traffic, hands free to command unit. Throw in updates and taffic for life, it can't be beat. There are other features that work great, but were not a game-breaker for me: routing, traffic cam locations, ability to view screen in either direction, gas consumption.

GOOD GPS A BIT AWKWARD
Pros: nice package, thinner than the 750. Cons: harder data entry, routing not as easy as nuvi 750
I purchased this to replace my Nuvi 750, it has all the functions that I was looking for in a attractive package. I find that data entry is a bit more awkward due to the size of the keys and you have to press harder than on the 750. One of the reasons I bought it for was to have routing, it sort of has it but works quite a bit differently than the 750 and that makes it a bit harder to work with. It also was not able to take the routing from the MapSource software. So far so good as I did buy the European maps and have not gotten lost in Ireland.

A very nice working GPS right out of the box. Clear, concise display & clear audible directions make this Nuvi fun to use. I've been using Garmin Products since days of StreetPilot 330 and I must say this is one of the best I've ever used, except for some minor issues.
In Status Bar, at times shortly after "Ready to Navigate" or Jones Street Ahead, Driving on Main Street, it will state "Home 12 Mins Away No Traffic" or some random from Favorites. Power Off and On several times will solve the trick for few days same with reseting

LOTS OF NICE OPTIONS BUT...
Pros: nice freatures Cons: too long to calculate
Unfortunately it did not live up to what I was expecting. Ease of use is pretty easy just follow the directions on the screen and your laughing. Voice command does need more options though. The ability to correct the speed limit is nice. My problem was with calculating and re-calculating. I know that if you have trafficTrends and myTrends enabled it will slowdown your calculation, but on my device it was ridiculous, even with them disabled. I was hitting times of 11 minutes to calculate and it was only 496 KM away. My old 770 & 350 were faster than this one. In fact my old I3 was quicker.
I have purchased a couple of gps's from GPS City now and their customer service is excellent. They let me upgrade to the 3790LMT. I realize that it's a lot more $$ but after experiencing the problems I did with not one of the units but two of them I was ready to pack it in.
Nice gps with basically all the features the big boys have but just didn't do it for me. Too bad.
Kudos to Richard for the great customer service.

IMPORT ROUTES FORM MAP SOURCE
Pros: more responsive touch screen Cons: input routes one at a time
I had a Nuvi 750 and have over 3000 favorites I use this for stops I make for work, along with over 45 routes all saved in map source in 500 units. So when i go to different cities i have to upload changes to the pc from the last city then clear the hand held the enter the new favorites, it really stinks. so when i found out that the new ones save 1000 favorites i was excited, half the work. first day using it uploaded the days favorites and routes and come to find out the routes are nowhere to be found at all! over 1/2 to 3/4 of the favorites as I drive by them you can not see them. COME ON what is this, this unit is 3-4 years newwer and the technology is not much better. any tips I would love them....

ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES
Pros: lots of features usually available only of more ex Cons: lmt downloads can be tricky
I attempted to purchase this item in the Fall of 2010 and was concerned when Garmin kept pushing the release date out. Plus, the more expensive twins of this product, the 3700 series with the fancier touchscreens, had been released much earlier, to mixed reviews, mostly because of reported bugs. But the 2360LMT finally shipped in late January and I have been very please with it. It understands the spoken voice commands very well, which is huge, to me. It learns preferred routes after a time and stops suggesting the default ones if you constantly ignore them. The traffic feature does work but I need more time to access how quickly it adapts to dynamic situations- it will steer you clear of the big stuff. Lane assist works. I haven't used the Bluetooth, as I have then inbuild in the car, but my phone sees the device fine. And, so far, none of the bugs I read about with the 3700 series have been evident. So, kudos to Garmin for holding this one back until they fixed to software. For the price, this seems to be a very good GPS.

2360LMT COUNTER BALANCE
I have already submitted reviews on the 2360LMT and the Nuvi 13xx Leather Slip Case somewhat prematurely with respect to the 2360 but I did so to somewhat “balance” the negative comments which it was accumulating primarily because the release date kept being rolled back.
I plan on doing another review on it when I become more familiar with its’ many capabilities and although I have found a couple of cons I am pleased to say they are heavily out weighted by its’ many pros.
The fact that I purchased a second Nuvi 13xx Leather Slip case in itself speaks to what I think of the product which I shall mention in another review. I also plan on doing assessments on the Ecoroute HD cable and Non-Skid Dash Mounts in due course.
Lastly, but in no way less important, I would like to point out that I am extremely pleased with the prices and the way in which my various orders have been handled and shipped by GPS City.

BEST VALUE FOR VOICE COMMAND GPS
Pros: voice commands exceeds my expectations Cons: none
I only buy Garmin (8 so far) for everyone in the family. My "musts" included Voice Command and LifeTime Maps. This unit has both, plus Life Time Traffic. I was looking at the top end unit 3790LMT (great unit) but I couldn't justify the extra $200 for 800x480 res, light weight, and thinness. Since I do not plan on carrying the GPS - it's for my car only, I could easily trade off these features.
Voice Command works very well, but I can surely give Garmin some suggestions on how to improve it. For example, you can not save to favourites with a Voice Command. Hence I'm glad I didn't buy the top of the line - VC will get better.

NUVI 2360
Pros: the customization features, the trip info Cons: finding listed locations (type ahead/alphabetical)
Getting started is a little clunky if moving from one GPS to this one. Other GPS systems allowed an upload from the computer and one even provided a POI translator to help this. The Garmin I had to enter everything from scratch. User's manual is poor to adequate. The features described have some errors and lack description. Several features are not even mentioned. If I deviate from a recommended route, the recalculation takes quite a while. The number of options is fantastic, from different ways to see traffic, to trip info to what displays where etc The traffic map colors make it almost worthless. First the planned route remains in selected color, 2nd you can't see where traffic "change" ie, I want to take this route for 5 miles because the primary route clears up after that. Other systems RDS info seems to have been more real time. I'm sitting on the intersate for 2 minutes, 0 motion and I show green traffic. Is this an average across the route or delayed info? Inital registration was seamless...thank you. This may seem trivial, but having to find the s/n etc is ridiculous these days. The only bad part is I had to figure the exact model which seemed weird. I'd like to be able to turn auto zooming on/off as I can see a lot of detail on the map but I can't read it. If I hit the plus/minus, it should stay that scale or allow me to toggle auto zoom on/off. Traffic often takes half the trip (25 miles) before it displays status. in addition to the go back one page, it would be nice to have a go back to map display. some menus take the go back button 5-6 times to get back to the map. I haven't seen any traffic issues ahead alerts recommending a different route. I SUDDENLY see a new exit/route showing and a) don't know why b) don't get alot of advanced warning if I'm in the wrong lane. Most other usits allow an accept/reject and some detail about 5 minutes faster or 20 mintues faster which is significant in deciding. No learn route info. I take the same route every day but I have to deviate from what is mapped. When I deviate, it shows I'm saving 3 minutes by using my route, but it still shows it's route...no learning with an option to keep it or remove it because it was a one time route etc. I have 4 GPS units and a lot could be learned by buying the competition's units and seeing what they do that Garmin doesn't. I am with Garmin now because of other Customer Service not because of Garmin features but I'm very happy with my purchase...I just got spoiled by the others (DASH 2 way, unit to unit traffic tom tom touch screen relocate the display, click to record a map update so next computer connection shares it with all users (optional), safety alerts etc, lane info. HOV options are very iffy it seems. First, I don't get HOV alerts very often but travel routes where an entire section is for HOV, but I don't get to pick yes/no. I66 ni va is all lanes HOV from certain hours east bound and different hours west bound but my Garmin will allow me to use that route without an HOV warning (because this is so strange) but typically, I never get an HOV warning so far and it would be great to see traffic deltas between the hov section and the regular section and even the HOV lane and the other lanes...i.e. one lane is HOV and if I select that route I can make the trip in 1 hour, but if I pick the regular lanes because I don't qualify for HOV it will be 2.5 hours so I should take side roads because traffic there is 2 hours. Again, I'm happy. I think there is room for improvement, but I will certainly keep my unit if nothing changes...just because of the customer interfaces.

GARMIN 2360LMT
As everyone has said, this is a good GPS and I think it is a great value for the money.
However, I've had two problems with the GPS "hanging" and becoming non-responsive. That has required a reset of the unit.
I've also found that the navigation features need some help. There are a couple of major chain stores near me that have been there for years that aren't in this unit's map (but are in the map of my much older Garmin 850).
Two other minor issues - First, the unit's battery is not removable. When it goes, the unit will have to either be replaced or sent for service.
Second, the traffic notifications (while good) require that you view various location based advertisements. This cannot be supressed unless you buy a subscription.
All in all, this is good unit to buy, but you should go in with your eyes open.

Pros: lifetime traffic-maps, callsout street names Cons: none at this time
I wanted to buy my sister-in-law a GPS. She wanted one that told her where to turn and wanted on that spoke the name of the street When I loaned her my NUVI 660 so that she could get use to a GPS system, she returned it the day after I gave it to her as it didn't call out the name of the street to turn I gave her this unit the other day and she just loves it The other features that I like about this unit is that it had lifetime maps and traffic, which basically means you don't have to buy another GPS device again The other great thing about this unit is the price. I believe I paid close to $500.00 for my 660 and then had to pay another $60.00 for the lifetime traffic. This unit was under $250.00 and included lifetime maps and TRAFFIC. If I was to buy another GPS I would buy this one - I really don't think that you need a larger screen

GARMIN KEEPS GETTING BETTER
Pros: intersection prompts/info. voice recognition. Cons: voice inputs could be faster
Was using a Nuvi 660, so will compare to that.
I like the display at interchanges.
First it briefly gives you a "picture" of what the exit sign will look like.
Second it displays small grey arrows in the upper left corner representing each lane at the upcoming interchange with the one (or two) lane(s) you need to be in showing up as white arrows. The arrows also point which direction you'll be exiting. Good info when you're in an unfamiliar area that has as many left exits as right exits.
Third - Once you are on the exit ramp the display pans back a bit to give a better "big picture" of what is coming up. This is helpful at complicated interchanges.
Voice recognition works well. A little slow perhaps but safer than trying to program by hand while driving. Always got my numbering correct. When I said twenty four thirty it read back 2 - 4 - 3 - 0.
Cons to the voice prompts are that it prompts you each piece of info and will not "listen" until it has prompted you for what it wants next. Could go much faster if would not verbalize each prompt.
Second - background noise such the radio or an open window will degrade the ability of the Nuvi 2360 to understand what you are saying.
The 2360 is much smoother scrolling or updating the display as I drive compared to the nuvi 660.

Sometimes the GPS will lock up, and you need to shut down completely to get it started again. The speed limit showing on GPS is wrong many times, at least 20% error when speed sign changes.

I reviewed twice on this site how good this GPS was for 1st timer. I had 3 questions to ask them. First, was about uploading to updated software on their site. There was a step that when you disconnect the GPS from the computer after uploading the software the GPS turns off and turns on automatically. Well mine didn't turn on after it turned off. I waited 20 minutes then connected the computer and the website refreshed saying that my software is up to date. The support said that is was okay and I can check it by going through settings which he step through for me. Second, I asked the support what the periodical sound and small pop-up box since it disappears quick while driving and you can't read the small print. He explained that its the red light street cameras as you pass by them or the approximately. He stepped me through to disable the alert and sound. Lastly, I asked if there was a glitch because it occasionaly freezes which the help section explains to turn it off for seconds and turn it on, the device turns off by itself or goes to another menu which you have not intended when you press the screen buttons or voice command something. He told me that there was new software update on their site that may fix that issue. He told me to upload the new software and test it for next two days if not to call back. I will give on update how this goes.

POTENTIAL TO BE GREAT...
Pros: slick interface, nice size, easy setup, nice features Cons: 2 big glitches: no traffic+volume issue w/ phones
My biggest gripes with this GPS is that it came with some glitches that are still not resolved for me. The glitches I've encountered are as follows: 1) The Traffic feature does NOT work despite being in a major city, Chicago, and being well within the coverage area per the Navteq maps. Without traffic feed, the features touted for this GPS do not work (e.g. re-routing based on congestion, learning traffic patterns over time, etc, etc)
2) There is a glitch with the volume when making handsfree calls. After the call my GPS's volume remains largely muted. I then have to go into the Master Volume menu to turn the volume down one notch to get it fixed and then turn it back to where it was to get things fully normal again. Why????? Software glitch????
If the above two issues were resolved for me then I suspect I would absolutely love this product.

A GREAT GPS FOR 1ST TIMER STILL AFTER 2-WKS(PART2)
Pros: touch anywhere on map and calulate to that pt. Cons: freezes once in awhile
I did a previous review about how I like this GPS system. I love it more better after 2 weeks. I found out later I like the voice action feature even more and wish they could still add the traffic delay/faster-shorter route as voice reponse instaed of touching button. I also like the vertical display orientaion since when it goes into junction view it doesn't cover up the whole screen like the horizontal/landscape display orientation - it goes into split screen. Even though the scroll is week scrolling the map - I like how you can touch anywhere on it and will calculate to that location instead of inputing information where you want to go. Later, I found out one other issue I don't like about this - the screen freezes once in awhile which is not much of hastle to me. It does state that in the help screen to turn it off and turn again.

A GREAT GPS FOR 1ST TIMER
Pros: the combination of gps functions and data Cons: the #of pressing of screen buttons for screen/menu
This is my first GPS I got and I love it. This is a great product for some one that never had GPS like me. The main things I like about this product is the combination of bluetooth phone hands free, voice activation, and free traffic/map updates. The main things I don't like about this product is the re-calculation of long distance can be long at times, the scrolling of map view is weak, and the amount of touching the screen to get to each screen while driving. Like switching from faster/shorter routes and traffic delay updates to map view can be distracting while driving. I recommend that voice-activated option to switch these screens/menus while driving.

BASIC PROBLEM WITH POWER CORD
Pros: good options for the price Cons: poor design of the plug to the gps
Unfortunately, the vehicle power cord plugs into the suction mount and not the GPS. You have to take the mount with you to plug in outside the vehicle. The location of the plug-in makes it difficult to plug in and interferes with the positioning of the GPS. i.e. I cannot have it at a 90 degree angle to my dash because the plug hits the mount. This causes problems when trying to keep it out of sunlight. It's disappointing that these basic problems were not corrected before releasing this product. Otherwise, it's a good product so far.

GREAT AUTOMOTIVE GPS
Pros: acquisition of satelittes appears instantaneous. Cons: battery discharges rather quickly.
I have only had my unit for a couple of days and am still familiarizing myself with its many features which I am pleased to see are directed more toward navigation than being a universal PDA. The Voice Activation of Commands feature is truly remarkable. Excellent Dollar value.
