VACAION TRAVEL NECESSITY
Pros: ease of use,the screen size and voice command Cons: none yet
Just traveled 3000 miles on vacation. Went to several new places and Garmin 2460 took us to the exact address without any hassle. The satellite link was solid even in the tunnels. Lane assist is an excellent feature, a picture of the actual exit sign is shown on the screen. Easy to find gas, shopping, hotels etc. with POI. I am still learning the features, but this device makes traveling in unfamilar areas a breeze.

THE JURY STILL OUT...
Pros: nice screen, very good features, lots of potential Cons: early failure, questionable support for now
This unit is well designed and organized and has a bunch of interesting and helpful options that set this Garmin apart from other model and the competition. We could not understand why the camera update was not included like the maps and traffic but no model is perfect, right?
The only problem is that after less than 15 uses (we have received it about 6 weeks ago), this Nuvi gave up and crashed in the middle of a route, first losing its mapping, them shutting down completely with no chance of revival.
We are waiting for the Garmin support follow up which seems to be slow (it will take up to three days to respond to an e-mail question) and see what Garmin is going to do to make things right. Until then, we reserve our final opinion the initial satisfaction has been wiped out by this unexpected crash and failure.

NUVI 2460LMT GOOD AND NOT SO GOOD
Pros: big customizable display - clear lane change info Cons: canadian poi data 5+ years out of date
This GPS has a big 5" display although it does not actually display a lot of map detail. My old Nuvi 350 actually displayed a more detailed map. The map looses a lot of detail quickly as you zoom out which can be frustrating if you are trying to look manually for an alternate workaround if you are already in a lineup. I found the detours this GPS offers to be poor. Hands free voice command works but is very tedious to use. Bluetooth works well once the Nuvi trains you to remember its commands. Traffic works OK in Metro areas but is useless on interstates. Setting to "avoid traffic" may take you on a wild goose chase to avoid imaginary traffic and the Nuvi does not seem to take into account the time of day. My biggest gripe is the Points Of Interest are majorly out of date (5yr+). Also, there is a lot of misfiled data e.g. ask for shopping centers the Nuvi may lead you to a little florist shop or a barber in a back street as well as a large mall. Unless you really know the name of the place, and spell it the way Novi expects, you may be totally out of luck. Checking the Garmin website there appears to be no Garmin way of updating the POI database. I expected an up- to-date and functional POI and am disappointed with the Nuvi 1460LMT

Pros: it works Cons: comes new and needs updates via highspeed internet
Disappointed that I couldn't update maps or software just because I don't have Highspeed internet. I will just have to use the outdated ones that it came with. I can't understand why when a person buys a new unit that it isn't up to date. Would have a 5 star if it was up to date. 2nd review I left, the first one didn't get posted, I was too critical I guess.

GREAT GPS
This GPS is really great! There are only 2 minor problems that I can find - 1. With the Blue tooth - sometimes it does not pick up my phone and I have to turn off and on again for it to "see" my phone. 2. It has a fabulous feature in warning you about a Red Light Camera ahead, but it only does so in one direction. It does not pick it up going the opposite way. But as for the rest, it is great. It would be even better if it would give you speed limit warnings and radar gun warnings!

GARMIN - YES!
Pros: slender, good user interface, voice commands Cons: couple of minor map & route errors in my area
Based on my limited use to date I can say at this point it is overall a very good unit. It acquires satellites quickly, its larger screen are welcome sight for these old eyes. well thought out user interface.
The voice command ability works surprisingly well. This feature (in my humble opinion) is necessary in all of these devices to cut down on driver distractions (trying to enter a destination on the fly, I know, I know, but face it, we are all guilty at one time or another of this in one way or another.)
The map software showed one or two minor issues in my area. (A thru street showed as a dead end where the cross street actually was a dead end and showed as a thru street. No big deal)

IT'S GOOD 8/10
Pros: it works it's easy to use, voice command works wel Cons: volume changes are annoying, battery life is short
I bought this for my gf because her old one kept leading us to people's backyards. This was a great price I found so I bought it. Th 5inch screen is nice, it's very clear the directions are good and the fact that it says street names is a nice addition. Another nice addition is the showing o theoritically what the ramp looks like on screen. It has some additional unnessary features like a photo viewer which a a bit slow but don't detract from the device. The voice command works surprisingly well even with integrating phone books from a cell phone.
The bad might seem a bit nit picky but are worth mentioning firstly when not plugged in the device is significantly quieter even when fully charged this can make using voice command or Bluetooth tough. The battery life is rather short 2 or 3 hours. Occasionally the directions were somewhat unclear despite the naming of the roads as it wouldn't use the same name as the road sign but this was infrequent enough that it was excusable. I did not find the ads as annoying as most other reviewers seemed to but they are preset with traffic turned on. Start up might be slower then optimal bit satellite finding is quick
I think it is a competent device which is saying something as I am a map kinda person. I doubt that anyone with this device will be disappointed.

having my navigator in the car enables me to drive with full confidence wherever I may go, normally I love going cross- country in good weather and this is all laid out for me as I go along. Pros: sensitivity, voice command
I have had Garmin GPS's for many years even before the Nuvi series, and this one has the best sensitivity and accuracy of all the previous ones. Plus the voice control software makes navigation much easier. Editing favorites can be tricky and the traffic ads are a nuisance, but both are easily resolved once you learn the proper sequence.

DOES EVERYTHING, MAYBE TOO MUCH
Pros: bluetooth interface, big screen, user interface Cons: screen clutter alerts and screen ads
This is my third Nuvi I like all of them. I got this one for the voice recognition, wide screen, lifetime maps and traffic. They all work well. Bluetooth was a bonus it synchs with my non-smart phone very well, especially the on-screen commands the voice-activated commands for dialing are more limited, alas. The safety camera alerts seem to work well but I'm getting two visible and audible alerts when I get home (!) which I don't want, need, or understand. I'm also getting on screen "coupons" for gas and motels that I haven't figured out how to disable yet.

Hello, I live in Quebec and I must say that my English is not very good. I recently acquired a Garmin 2460 lmt and I must say that this little device really surprises me about the many features it has. It is easy to use screens and image are excellent. The only problem I had was updating the software and maps. There are many references on the internet but most procedures are not in French. There Garmin France but I do not like. After consulting with Garmin International, I managed to find my answers. The service is excellent. Garmin should limit the number of modeless to make the search.

GOOD TO GO WITH THE GARMIN NUVI 2460LMT
Pros: easy setup. lmt & voice rcognition is way to go Cons: none yet
Being a newbie to GPS's, I was a little intimidated by them. Was I wrong. This was about as easy a transition from paper maps to digital that I could of hoped for. Registering was a snap. Updating maps only took 1.5 hrs. Software update was a little confusing, but, my fault for not reading the instructions on the screen ( wife was right again, men don't read instructions, LOL) everything worked great on initial driving sojourns but there is a definite leaning curve to this thing. It will get the big test in July when wife and I take a 5000 mile trip into the US and back. Definitely reccomend this model

Pros: voice control, faster than earlier models Cons: none
I got the 2460 for voice control, which it gets right most of the time. Unit placement is key here, you may have to experiment (windshield placement works best, in my experience) This was an upgrade for me and I appreciate that "recalculating" has been removed. Bluetooth is handy if you need it.

BEST AND VERY PRACTICAL GPS
Pros: does everything it is supposed to.
I had a Garmin 330 – bought seven or eight years ago. It was great. However, after few years of use and because of the fact that I would have to pay bucks for a map update I decided to put the bucks toward a new GPS. After a lot of research I decided on the Nuvi 2460 mainly because of the larger screen, voice command and many other interesting features. I am really happy with this unit and find the “Voice Command” feature to be a God-send. I am pleasantly surprised how well this feature works. I find that because I can say a name of a place whether it is another town or city or a particular food place or even a church. It will immediately respond that it is looking for that particular place and very quickly respond with a list for my choice. I no longer have to stab my finger at a smaller screen many times to open a particular location of a place like a gas station or a restaurant. I will give GPSCity 6 stars for the excellent communications and timely shipment of my GPS unit. No Cons so far.

With additional installed maps the unit is better but still lacks a lot of the functions of a top quality handheld. SOME PROS LOTS OF CONS
Pros: large screen. ongoing updates Cons: all voice command features, offer pop-ups,
First of all the large screen is great. Thats about the only thing I like. Now for the cons.. Power cord/FM antenna is bulky and the antenna connection is in my vision. If you want to use voice recognition you must speak in the accent you choose. I like the British Female, but now to use the voice command I have to talk like that. Annoying coupon offer ads pop up when using the traffic feature. Can not shut this feature off separate from traffic. Will not recognise common vendors like Starbucks or McDonalds. The voice quality is less than my Nuvi 255. I wish it was worth the money but it's not.. Finally.. when it gets hot, the touch screen will start to falter and stop altogether evebtually

A NICE UPGRADE
I have a three year old Garmin 660 that was excellent in its day. But with two of us using it and my taking a long road trip it was time to get another GPS. Given my satisfaction with Garmin, it was the only maker I considered. The 2460LMT seemed to be top of the line from the comarisons and a good price for much more functionality. After an initial 4000 miles, I am very pleased with this model and would strongly recommend it to new and old gps users alike.
cons: (1) sometimes the voice input activates without the sentinal word (2) the ads that come along with the trafic warning feature are annoying and it seems you can't turn them off without also disabling the trafic feature.

LOTS AND LOTS OF FEATURES
Pros: very very very feature rich. Cons: battery life, big power cord, odd routing algo
I just upgraded from an old NUVI255
This GPS has it all, spoken street names, blue tooth, voice command, traffic, life time maps (a big plus), large screen etc etc. You can also customize the front screen.
It's not cheap but you're getting alot (consider you'd have to pay $50-$100 for a decent blue tooth device for your phone). Overall a great unit.
What I don't like: The routing algo seems a bit strange sometimes but it could be me still trying figure out how to use the unit
The power cord is very thick (I think its because of the FM antenna) and I find it bothersome while driving.
The battery seems to die when the unit is off for a few days (not sure why it's pulling batter power when off)
I'm very happy with it. The kids like using the voice command function.

NICE GPS
Pros: 5 Cons: slow recalculation, junction view needs improvement
I have a Tomtom Go920 which I used for almost 2 year which I like so much till it got stolen.I bought the magellan 4350 which I like the 3D graphics and nice lane assist and exellent junction view but the unit keeps freezing and no map update so I return it. Bought a Nuvi 1450 with a nice 5" screen but the mapping was not accurate. I already arrived on a location but the gps still saying 650meter to go. Updating the map didn't help so I return it back. I did lots of research and bought the Nuvi2460LMT at GPS City. Nice 5"screen ,not as bright as I expected,I have to put it 100% on daylight but still very good Exellent voice command which is really helpfull and I really like it, Big Plus. Bluetooth speaker phone is very clear, speaker is loud and doesn't rattles.A good selection on map themes with different map graphics. I wish I can change the lane to diff.color instead of purple. It is very nice to customize the menu screen.Map is very accurate. Garmin has to improve their junction view, sometimes it just flash for a few seconds and missed it.In few occation,I'm already very close to the exit before junction view shows on the screen.Very few junction view on my location. I hope eventully Garmin will improve it. One more thing that I don't like is, it is slow when it recalculate which I already passed another block when it finished recalculation. I updated the map and software but still the same. Even though it has few problems,I still like the unit.I hope Garmin will improve it on the next update comes out.
