GREAT VALUE

Ordered this kit so we could use my motorcycle GPS (Nuvi255) as a family spare for our 1490LMT. Very good value to us at this price.

CHEAP VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL
The mounting bracket is a cheap version of the original bracket supplied with a new Nuvi 1690 in that it lacks the connector terminals at the bottom. Therefore, when the operator wants to remove the GPS from the vehicle, he must go through the extra steps of unplugging the unit from the rear requiring both hands instead of one. Then, he must plug it back in upon remounting, which can be quite difficult in the dark.

I bought my nuvI & liked it but not keen on see'n the cable dangleing around sooo buried it. well that left me need'n another cable when I swap vehicles & I was ok purchasing another one & it worked out to be more convieniant.

ALL FINE APART FROM THE STICKY PAD!!
Pros: nice price
Cons: sticky pad failure
this is a great little add on, but the adhesive pad on the base is too thin (no flexing on an uneaven dash) and not very sticky either!!
