The Nuvi 760 is absolutely amazing and a great price too! I recently upgraded from a C330 and let me tell you, technology has advanced quite far ahead since this then. The charger is quite durable and the model is slimline and very easy to view during the daylight hours. It quickly and easily charges via USB connection to your computer or via the auto charger. The Garmin WebUpdater is very slick is bringing my firmware/voices/etc. up to date. The menus are very easy to navigate and are very easy to get used to. Linking of the bluetooth feature to my cellphone was done very easily and it is very easy to switch to the phone or drop the caller as new buttons are presented while in the call. Within seconds of taking it out of the box and plugging it in, it had already acquired a signal! Route calculations are fairly quick though we often have to remind ourselves that it is just a computer calculating a route and not a human than is analyzing a map - it will not always make the best route 100% of the time. I love the freedom it gives you to explore a new city. In the past (without a GPS) I was hesitant to go off the main drag when traveling. Now, I'm free to drive where I want, then click a button to bring me back to familiar territory. Can't say enough about this one. Five stars all the way!

CAR CHARGER IS A CRAP!!!
I received the Nuvi 760 4 days ago and after I opened up the box the Charger has already fallen apart. The fuse came out. Then I purchased a brand new Garmin car charger from the Best Buy. The unit is not charging. The GPS itself works great. But lack of some of restaurants info and hotel info, you have to uploaded by yourself. The Garmin auto update simply doesn't do the pinpoint job for you. The music station not that user friendly, takes you somebody to get used to it. If you are driving and want to change songs it usually stuck for about 15 seconds and they it starts to change...sort of like the windows XP symptom. Ha... other than that this equipment is alright too me...It isn't as fancy as the commercial described. The bluetooth function is fancy and convinent, but sometimes you get annoyed by it, especially when you try to switch between the phones and the GPS. All I can say is it looks fancy and cool, but it takes you sometime to get used to it and if you are not one of those tech gismo...forget about it. just buy other cheaper model. Some of the location I found it ridiculous as I have already surpassed it and it doesn't reroute it. It still asks me to go back to the passed route which I Suppose is faster, but I simply don't want to and this machine keeps on telling me too..:< annoying.

First up, I cant begin to tell you how many sites and box stores I have been scouring for THEE best price on this unit, and hands down GPS CITY was not just a little, but considerably cheaper than anywhere I could find, even so called "discount" sites in the states. We palced the order and within two days it was here in our hands!
So today is day #4 of having my Nuvi 760 and it's everything I expected and more. I've done a load of research on various makes and models and dozens and dozens of sites and magazines, and the Garmin 9 times out of 10 came out on top. The 760 has all the features you could ever want, including the Bluetooth, which took me about 3 minutes to get up and working.
Out of the box it took about 10 seconds to aquire a signal, and I have not had one issue of aquiring a signal taking longer than several seconds. The screen is fantastic even in bright sunlight, the voice commands are easy to understand.
Accuracy has been suprisingly good so far. I have come across a few locations where it's off, but it's usually around a major mall where the address could be three blocks long. Im suprised by some of the points of intrest stored in the unit, as Im in a small town in northern Saskatchewan Canada, and I didnt expect it to have much from a place like this, but it does - and more!
The menu is simple and easy to explore even without reading the manual (which it doesnt come with but just download one from there website if you want)
I entered in a few routes that I take regularily to see how they stack up and it does choose by defualt the quickest route, not necessarily the one I may take, but it gets you there none the less. I also made a route from our home to a campground in South Dakota we stay at, and the route calculated out EXACTLY the distance it is! I know since I have marked it with the odometer in the vehicle a few times. It did give me a different route, but the one it chose was one that would get us there the quickest and we have taken...so I made my own route which was super easy, hit GO and voila!!
I like the black finish of the unit, it's sleek, fairly light and feels well built. The one thing I wish it would have come with is a household power charger (it comes with a USB and Car charger)
So if your looking for a GPS and a place to buy it, I have to HIGHLY reccomend the NUVI 760 and GPS city - you wont be dissapointed at all!

Had my Nuvi 760 for 2 weeks now. GPSCity definitely has the best price I could find. Excellent and easy-to-use interface, love the media player and I definitely DID NOT have any problems transmitting from inside the car to the radio. No problem at all !! It was crystal clear. Only error I have encountered was, on a recent trip I was getting low on gas and was unfamiliar the area. I had the unit display gas stations. I picked one and followed the voice. When I took the off-ramp it told my to turn right 100m ... The station was very clearly LEFT 100m. Oh well, I figured not too bad for everything else it does right.

5 for the GPS unit, 3 for the TMC receiver, 1 for the MSN receiver (bought separately). Unit works as advertised. Nice evolutionary updates from the old Nuvi's. MSN Direct traffic service is still work in progress, very disappointing seeing only a few incidences reported but constantly running into traffic jams. In over a month of ownership I've only had one traffic alert on my route while I deal with traffic everyday. MSN customer support was useless. Be warned, although MSN shows traffic flow in Toronto as "limited" you will only see Lakeshore Blvd. show flow info (green/yellow/red). MSN live maps shows a lot more streets including hwys but I was unable to communicate this point to the MSN CSR. TMC receiver shows a few more incidents and seems to be updated more frequently.

MINOR FLAWS IN EXCELLENT UNIT
Very happy with evertything except a few minor flaws: - I play Nuvi's MP3 with its headphone jack wired to the car radio. It is great that the Nuvi and music shut down when the engine is stopped and start up when the engine is started. However, when starting the engine there is a buzzing noise from the Nuvi for about 15 seconds while the Nuvi boots up. Then there is a 'click' and the music starts up where it last stopped. This buzzing is a design flaw - the Nuvi should be silent until the boot is completed. - Nuvi's FM transmitter is too weak to get a usable signal to the car radio unless the car's antenna is within a foot of the Nuvi. My car's antenna is built into the rear window and is thus 5 feet away from the Nuvi. If I put the Nuvi against the rear window the FM comes thru OK (still not crystal clear) - but I cannot see the Nuvi when it is in the back seat (HA). Point is: the FM transmitter is not strong enough to use at all, so I use the headphone jack.

Received my 760 a couple of weeks ago. No major problems. GPSCITY is the best for price and delivery. Shopped around for a 760 and found it cheaper at Costco, notified GPSCITY and within a couple of days the priced dropped to within $10 of Costco. Purchased the unit, the savings on PST paid for the shipping. The price dropped again to the same as Costco and my invoice was adjusted to reflect the new lower price. Very little wait time for signal lock up. The bluetooth and the fm features work well. I purchased the external microphone to elminate echo on the hands free mode with my cell phone. Some of the routing decisions are questionable, when set for fastest time, it send me through town with dozens of traffic lights when a bypass is available with a higher speed limit and minimal lights. May be just a problem on this route, others work fine. No carrying case or manual included and should be at this price point. Otherwise an excellent unit.

For the high price, where is the WAAS accuracy support? Also, how can the unit be operated while powered from the USB power connector? It appears that it will only battery charge from the USB port and xfer data. Since the battery time is short, how about being able to externally power the unit while carrying the device from a external USB 5 volt battery pack such as tha APC Mobile Power battery? Not all useage will be in an auto. You overlooked two critical items :( Otherwise it is a good unit and performs well!

I am very happy with this purchase. So far did every thing I was hopping for. When I first open the box and turn it on Gps was already loc to my area. I never had to wait. After couple days I had to wait 15 to 20 seconds for locking. Keep in mind nothing perfect. Enjoy new technology. It's hard to beat hold timer maps and compass. gps0

I'm a 1st time owner of any GPS & buyer at GPS City. 1st, GPS City is 1st Class. Outstanding price and great inventory. My original purchase from other vendor did not reach me in time for our 2 week trip as promised by shipper DHL(They suck BIG Time). Found GPS City in Vegas phone book, at our 1st 3 day stop, with an even better price then my 1st vendor. Both internet sales only. Ordered the 760 on my laptop, picked it up and off to Arizona. Some dead spots & or distance delays in mountain areas and during bad weather. Suggest antenna accessory. Like the big screen. The POIs were well used and very handy for gas, Post Office, & food, but need updating. One place was boarded up, missing streets in newer built up areas. Female voice seemed agitated when she had to recalculate. We got a kick out of that but it wore off. All an all this was a Great purchase. Even my wife was impressed and eventually approved of the purchase. Still trying to figure out Bluetoothing it w/my Palm phone. I'll get back.

OUTSTANDING GPS - SUPER SERVICE BY GPSCITY.CA!
With the exception of the FM transmitter, the unit is flawless. I had recently purchased and returned the Tomtom Go 720 since the maps were worthless in Alberta. The garmin is less "tweakable" than the tomtom, but the Navteq maps proved far superior to the Teleatlas maps of the Tomtom. I had to purchase the optional mic to improve the quality of the the bluetooth handsfree operation. The shipping by GPS city was commendable. The pricepoint is fantastic for the unit. Highly recommended unit and etailer!!!!

Excellent device, routing decisions and traffic capabilities have been eye-opening. I didn't know about some of the roads it has taken me on and they are definitely better paths. I, too, was disappointed it doesn't have WAAS. I contacted Garmin to ask about this, and they claim they've found it unnecessary with the new receivers. I guess I can believe that with THIS type of unit for this reason: I set up a 660 with its patch antenna next to my 760's GA25 external antenna (my mount location requires me to use an external). The 660 had WAAS turned on. The units' accuracy numbers leap-frogged each other as expected (+/- 1-2 feet), but never did the 660 with WAAS have consistently higher accuracy. Every time I stopped and compared their coordinate readouts, they were EXACTLY the same down to the last decimal point! Personally, I think WAAS is still beneficial for my Rino, but for this type of Nav device it really doesn't seem necessary comparing two otherwise nearly identical designs. However, its internal antenna may degrade your reception somewhat, depending on mount location. I don't know if WAAS can help with that. Other than all of that, I am impressed at its speed of calculation and recalculation it calculated a route half way across the country in 12 seconds. Traffic data is about 75% accurate in San Diego, but that's at the mercy of the data source, not the GPS unit. I will definitely purchase a traffic subscription when this one expires. I purchased the external microphone and use this via bluetooth with my iPhone and people say it's very clear. The 760 has no problems reading my entire contact list, even those with multiple entries, as well as last dialed & received call lists. Text messaging on the iPhone is not compatible with this unit, but that is because of Apple's unique implementation. This Nuvi makes a good hand-free unit. The 760 supports SDHD cards with no problem--at least it does with my SanDisk 4GB SDHD without complaint. If you use its MP3 player, the sound quality is good, but not excellent. It sounds a little dull and lacking in treble. However, it's not so bad that it would be distracting with road noise in the background. The FM transmitter, as most people have observed, is poor. Plus, if you use the bluetooth features as well, you will have no privacy if another car picks up some of your signal. Because of this, the FM transmitter is of no interest to me. Keep the unit up to date with the WebUpdater. Since I've had it during the last month, there have been two firmware updates, plus updates for the traffic receiver and bluetooth, voices updates to correct pronunciation issues, and what I think was even a GPS receiver microcode update. Some of these are shared features with other units, such as the voices, so these are not necessarily issues relating to just the 760.

NICE UNIT BUT THE LCD SCREEN COULD BE BETTER
I just got this GPS and i'm a user of Garmin GPS for severals years. I was checking for the Nuvi 660 but the 7xx series was almost ready to get on market so I wait to see the Nuvi 760. This unit is nice but the LCD screen is not as good as the Nuvi 600 the screen get fade out very quickly when you view it from above or below the center point of view. Check from above and the screen becomes white and from below it becomes black. I don't remember seeing this on the Nuvi 660. Also where is the WAAS ? No carrying case include ! The contact connector at the bottom of the GPS are not protected so you need to take extra care that so dirt come in contact with them. FM traffic is not working as advertise here in Montreal. The traffic get signals for a very short time and it activate the 3 months subscription but the service is very poor and their is no way we can prevent the GPS to not activate the FM traffic. So for people in Montreal if you want to benefit from the 3 months FM traffic then for now use your Nuvi 760 only with the battery and don't use the cigarette lighter so this way it will not activated and you will not loose your 3 months free. Wait till the service will be 100% in service. I like it but because of the screen quality and the FM traffic not working I can only give a 3.

I had this model for about 2 weeks now and I don't have any major issues with it except that, sending text using bluetooth won't work. It just show in the outbox messages sent but I don't know if it really transmitted my messages. But despite of this I don't really need sending text using my GPS, otherwise it is just a very slow process and dangerous while you're driving. It acquired signals less than 2 minutes for the first time when it was turned on and averaging 17 seconds thereafter. There are some sluggish performance that I've noticed like, recalculation when missing turns, arrival at destinations does not turn the routing off automatically & accuracy between the map and the satellite location has a gap on it. I've updated mine to version 2.20 but I'm sure Garmin is still working on it to fix these issues like in the past. Otherwise, I should have given it a "5" stars rating.

NUVI 760 1ST IMPRESSION
Very nice unit indeed. Overall look is good. It shows highway exit info (didn't have this function in my old Nuvi 350). Traffic receiver embedded within the DC charger is clever and working well (I'm in Toronto by the way). Storable route is a feature I wished when I'm using my old 350. The bluetooth connect to my Tero 650 faultlessly. The only concern I have with the 760 is the FM transmitter is working poorly. I can't use it at all in my car because I'm getting static noise in every channel. I have to use my old FM transmitter I've brought for my 350 and plug it into the headphone jack. Other then that one little thing, I say the 760 worth every penny I've spend.
