GOOD UNIT - - MSNBC SUCKS

The voice commands are a great feature of this unit, and very pleased overall with the operation of the 880 unit. However, the MSN traffic reports, stock information, news, and other features that you get for your 3-month free trial are worthless.. It doesn't update.. News is old.. frustrating to have to verify whether info you're getting is current or old! If you're buying this unit for this feature, look at another brand that does it better... very disappointing feature, and one of the major reasons I ordered this unit.

NICE PRODUCT!

This GPS is awsome. It got precision. It is fast. Bluetooth works fine as the traffic receiver (after update). Voice recognition works great too when there is not much sounds around. Perhaps the speeking is a little bit confusing. when you need to turn on RTE 104 which is Route 104 the GPS will say Turn Right on 'R' 'T' 'E' 104. It is the same for the AV for avenue. Still this unit is great

NUVI 880 ROCKS!

I have used in the past a Nuvi 660, Nuvi 5000, Nuvi 350, and a Nuvi 760. This unit, the Nuvi 880, is by far the greatest unit. It is one of the first units to incorporate almost everything into one unit, including custom route avoidance. This is a great feature, since sometimes mapping can be outdated or incorrect. It always helps to be able to simply avoid a specific road if you use it all the time. Garmin has hit the nail on the head with the voice recognition. Other manufacturers such as Magellan and TomTom, but by far Garmin's voice recognition on the Nuvi 880 is the best. It usually even hears me when there is light music playing in the background. The quality and accuracy of the voice recognition is awesome. The only problem though, is with some places that are only local to you, the unit most likely will not recognize the name. This is a given though, the technology can't be 100% perfect, and its just something you will have to live with - even though it isn't that big of a deal. Just as Roxie said in the review before this one, the Where Am I? feature is great when you aren't too sure where you are. The speech recognition remote is a great idea, it simply goes right around the steering wheel in your car. You can set it to the perfect position for comfort. By far the beat unit Garmin has on the market, but unfortunately it doesn't have the new lane assist and lifetime traffic features of the new Nuvi 7x5T units. MSN Direct is also very handy, as there usually are roads and freeways which will be temporarily closed around here, and knowing before you actually get to that point is a helpful feature. All in all, if you're considering this unit - BUY IT! There is nothing on the market that will even compete with it right now.

NUVI 880 REVIEW

I have used many GPS units and do tend to favour the vehicle styles over the handhelds, options such as MP3 Players and Bluetooth are just way too handy. For a first generation speech recognition GPS, the quality is phenomenal, accuracy is key when the variable of voice comes into play. The user interface is very intuitive, with prompting the user for address information, or offering uncomplicated menus. The Where Am I? feature is great for unfamiliar areas, or cities, in that it helps the user narrow their search quickly, greatly reducing the wait time finding Points of Interest. With features like Bluetooth and the Speech Recognition remote, on-the-go use is safer and easier than ever to use.
