I have read on many sites the the 885t is discontinued is this true. If it is what is the new model to purchase

The Nuvi 885 is Discontinued and at this time it is still your best bang for the buck. Garmin discontinues their road navigators every few months. I would not worry about buying this unit because you will get all the same support as if you were to buy the replacement but at half the cost usually. The replacement with voice recognition is not out yet. When it is out, we will announce it on our site or one of our social networks (facebook, twitter, Blogger ....). Have a great day
