I have mounted a Garmin Oregon 450 on my CANAM 400 ATV using the RAM mount and holder. I bought the Oregon 450 as it is easier to use than the Etrex Legend HCx. The 450 is all touch screen. I mounted it on the windshield support frame. I did not use the "u" bolt, as I do not have any room left on the handle bars. The 1" ball mount is bolted directly to this frame. It is easier to see and helps to keep my eyes on the trail. See submitted pictures. I recommend the screen protector for the dusty trails, as you may end up scratching your screen. I purchased the 4 G card, as it will hold more information. Downloading the maps from my computer was easy.
The staff at GPS City were great in helping me get exactly what I wanted and even suggested some additional items. They wanted me to be happy with what I ordered and were not just trying to make a sale. I was so impressed that I have passed along their website to all my friends and family, as I know they will get great service.
The last words are: Go out and enjoy the trails and be safe. |

My usual riding buddies. Wife and two kids. So it's best to not get lost!!! | |

On a recent trail bike ride with my brother in law and his neighbor it became clear I needed a GPS. We started out on a beautiful Saturday morning at 9:00 am. A quick unload off the trailer and we were off. Little did I know that was the last time I would see my truck for the next twelve hours!!!!
We found some excellent riding trails but my brother in law had a plan. He needed/wanted to find his way to a particular intersection he had been to in the past.
The long and the short of it is that we all ran out of gas and two of us ran out twice!!!! We all ran out of water and food. Oh, and to top it all off, I got a flat.
At that point we decided I would hobble to a road access while the other two rode back to the truck. I was told it was a mere 5 km ride and about 20 minutes. So there I was in the bush on my own at dusk!!!! I was collected two hours and 30 kms later.
My brother in law is now referred to as Magellan for his spectacular navigation abilities. His neighbor is known as Braaaap for his ability to consume huge amounts of fuel while making a terrible racket. And I am Limpy, no explanation necessary.
The next day I ordered an Oregon 450 and Ram EZ on-off mount. I love the clean set up and the GPS is great. I am still figuring out the Garmin software, but it will come.
Our last ride was a complete success with the trailer loaded in the daylight and home for dinner.
Thanks GPS City for making it so I no longer rely on "Magellen".

| SIMPLE, INEXPENSIVE, OREGON 450 MOUNT! |
|
|
I have been looking for several months for a mounting bracket for my Oregon 450.
While this model is designed for handle bars, my scooter's plastice bar cover made mounting there impossible.
I adapted a small 'L' bracket clamped under the mirror and wrapped and tightened the zip ties around the upper portion. Plugged in the power plug and drove off. Total install was less than 1/2 hour.
The GPSr is easily installed and removed. This is adds a new dimension to my riding experience. Great product! |

Got the motorcycle RAM mount fitted on my Can-Am Outlander. Works great and is solid as a rock!
Also got an extra "Diamond Plate with 1 inch Ball RAM-B-238U" to my boat. Makes it very easy to move between vehicles. |
