ROUTEABLE MAPS
Pros: small, works well in trees and while walking Cons: no routable maps, additional maps will cost more $
The maps that are included are not routable. You'll read about how you can put it in driving mode and such but the included maps are not routable and you'll get an error.
I can't believe I paid this much money for a GPS that doesn't have maps that are routable.
[Ed. note: Note the description does advise as follows: "Conveniently plug in optional preloaded microSD cards for all your outdoor activities on land or water (see maps tab for compatible maps). Just insert a MapSource card with detailed street maps, and Oregon provides turn-by-turn directions to your destination. "]

BIRD
Pros: touch screen,3d compass axis and geocache friendly Cons: menus...to many to step through at times.
Bought in April 2011 and have used it for almost a year regularly for Geocaching. Great to be able to down load caches and queries as needed.
Like all handhelds, it has it good days and bad days per satellite coverage but, zero's in all the time. Like the 3d compass capability b/c out in the woods you are never level.
I have a Colorado but, the touch screen is by far better.

450T FALLS SHORT
Cons: the included map is not routable
Don't expect this unit to guide you to your favorite fishing hole on the fly. The included topo 100k software is not routable and if you try to plot a route on the unit you will get the message this map contains no routable roads in this area. If you try to upload a route from the base camp software just the start and end point of the route are uploaded. Save some money and buy another unit

AMAZING GPS
Pros: operating interface, user functions, simplicity fo
Have used many types of GPS system over the years (Australian Military) in all types of terrains and locations throughout the world and this GPS is by far the most user friendly and practical GPS i have ever seen. The user interface is fast simple to use and contains everything i could ever need whilst navigating, I use this for both driving through cities (very accurate) as well as very serious handheld bush navigating. Gone are the days of convuluded and intricate way point entry and mangemant. the touch screen is perfect should have gone this way years ago... FANTASTIC PRODUCT

VERY HAPPY WITH MY GPS
Pros: maps are easy to read Cons: none so far
I am very happy I picked this GPS. I had been looking for months to decide which product would best suit my needs. So far I have not used in any mountain country but what I have used for in the city and on some scouting trips for deer. I also used the maps for my trip to minneapolis, i missed my turn and was able to use the map to find my way back to the interstate road by road. Very Happy

AWESOME HANDHELD GPSR
Pros: small size, intuitive functions and rugedness. Cons: screen visibility in bright light.
I have owned 2 Magellan handheld GPSr's and the Garmin Oregon 450T is by far the best.Intuitive and adaptive. Garmin has done a superb job of passing current technology on to the consumer.
