DECENT SOLUTION
Pros: great protection Cons: impairs touch screen ability
All is well, except I find the clear plastic a bit TOO think - it impairs the touch screen functions a bit. I tend to slip it out of the case for Geocaching, then put it back for storage.

NICE CASE
Pros: nice protection, less bulky than other cases Cons: limited use of factory carabiner/ clip
This is my third Garmin OEM case for my third Garmin handheld GPS receiver (others: 60CSx, Venture HCX) and I am happy with the fit of the case on my Oregon 450. I like that the screen protector is part of the case rather than a seperate piece of plastic over the screen. Since it is away from the screen I feel like it will protect from impacts better. The touch screen works very well through the thick plastic screen although it might take some breaking in before each touch is flawless. The one complaint, which doesn't bother me since I won't be using this feature but others have commented on, is that while you can use the belt clip/ carabiner that comes with the GPS, you will only be able to actually use the carabiner since the belt clip is covered by the case. I don't know why they didn't design it so you can use both. I have looked at the GizzMoVest case and really like it but it just seems too bulky and the screen is not protected without a seperate screen protector. I have had good luck with the OEM cases and will probably continue to purchase them with each new unit I buy.

GARMIN OREGON SERIES SLIP CASE
Great quality item. Reliable site and it shipped fast. Provides good protetion for my no so inexpensive GPS :). With the case on, the touchscreen still works good just have to use a little more pressure with your finger. The clear plastic screen of the case does provide a bit more glare but that is to be expected.

OREGON SERIES SLIP CASE IS THE BOMB
This case is ideal for the Oregon 550. Fits snug, still allows the usage of the clip carabiner, function of the camera to take pictures, you can still use the touch screen, you can even plug in the 12 volt cord, and the ultimate and best thing overall is the unit with this case on still fits into the RAM suction mount that I purchased as well. Ideal for keeping the screen protected while in the boat, quading or just in the vehicle. I highly recommend this case. It's the BOMB!!! The only con maybe the plastic becoming too hard in very cold temperatures and perhaps fogging or icing up. But, if that occurs perhaps it's a sign to stay inside....

DOES THE JOB
Pros: offers a fair amount of protection Cons: loss of touch screen sensitivity
This case does protect the gps, to some degree. However, you must already have a way of attaching to gps to something, as there is no clip on the case. There is an opening on the back of the case for a carabiner clip, handlebar clip, etc. Finally, there is a big loss of touch screen sensitivity with this case. But that is to be expected, and not a fault of the case. Still a drawback, though.

SLIP CASE WOES
This case doesn't fit the Garmin Orgeon Series 450 model. Very dissapointed, When they make new products why not make a case and sell it with the product, so we don't have to go on a hunting mission to try and find something that fits.

DOES THE JOB
This case fits well and fits over the belt clip. You can use the unit when the case is on (including the camera) but it's not as easy. Definitely protects my 550 from bumps and scratches.

BEST SLIP CASE
Cons: the plastic cover part is a pain to work with.
Hmmmmm, this one is tuff. I love my slip case, but I had to make a few alterations. Having my GPS protected was important to me, but the see-thru plastic that covers the face of the GPS had to go. It was hard to use the touch screen thru the thickness of the clear cover. I decided to pick out the threads and remove the plastic screen, and I think I made the right decision as I already had a Zagg screen saver cover on the face already.

GOOD CASE
Pros: good fit. can operate while in the case. Cons: anything more than a few operations is difficult
I bought this case because I wanted to have some protection for my GPS against handling damage. The fact that the GPS was usable without having to remove it from the case appealled to me. However, I found that I tend to take it out of the case to do anything more than a few basic operations since the touch screen is not easy to use. Otherwise, it fits well and serves the purpose.
