HIGH QUALITY, WELL FIT

Pros: not bulky, firm lock

Well-fitting and well-constructed without being bulky. Like how the design has the audio coupling locked in place by the mount.

Well like the rest of the comments here, the basic function of the unit is great. I have used it for over two years on numerous trips and it has worked great, up until late last summer. I started to have the intermitent issues with power as well. The cradle does function well, it just lacks true waterproofing. Moisture builds up in the contacts and corroides them and the PC board pretty bad if you do not disassemble the cradle and clean it every spring and fall. A simple gasket around that area might resolve the issue. Or you just buy a new one at $54 a pop.....

SECONTIME AROUND, DISAPOINTED.

Well, I wrote a review before. So my powered cradle failed, and I bought another one, (PLUS CUSTOMS FEES this time!). This unit did exactly the same thing as the previous one. It worked just fine for a couple months, and then it started failing intermittently, more and more often... I have now spent more that $200.00 and I am still without a powered cradle. I am really disapointed. I am sorry but I can now only recommend you find an alternative product. Since I am on the subject, not only the cradle failed, but now my Garmin Quest is acting up, not finding satelites, loosing them for no reason, not getting higher accuracy than 15 or so meters is WAAS mode... after only two summers of use... +$700.00 in hardware, $150.00+ of software and maps updes, all down the drain, and no useasble GPS to show for. Garmin wants US150.00 flat to fix it... Should I, really?

My cradle has worked well up until now when the unit started switching off and on. Although the mount is supposed to be waterproof on stripping it down I found the power contact on the board was contaminated with water and green mildew stuff. On trying to clean the contacts with Isoprpanol I found the gold contact eaten away. In my opinion this is not acceptable. When I contacted Garmin I was told it was out of warrantee and a repair would cost roughly 75% more then I could buy a new one. The item is just tweo years old. to sum up the mount is good but the waterproofness is bad and not fit for purpose.

MOTORCYCLE CRADLE PN 010-10610-00

I like my Quest. Most of the time it performs well considering it spends a lot of time being shaken and rattled on the handle bar of my motorcycle. This Cradle, well not so happy with it. It worked fine, but not for long. I bought it last year and used it for the summer months. By July,it started giving me trouble by intermittently cutting out power to the unit. And it just got worse and worse. Either the plastic casing is not stiff enough, or it wabbled, or the left side retaining grooves wore out. I do not know which. However, the contact pins are no longer making a good power connection, and the unit usually runs from its batterie most of the time. Sorry Garmin, but this product is a disapointment and I feel I did not get my money's worth, I have to find and buy a replacement.

Product works well. Easy to install. Locking mechanism holds GPS securely. Did not try to hear the GPS through headset.
