NEVER DROP YOUR GPS AGAIN!

Pros: strong, lightweigt, reliable, worth the money for
Cons: can feel a bit bulky, but works great

I purchased this retractable lanyard for my garmin gps while out geocaching. I use it with the G5 belt clip. It great and strong. I have dropped my gps a few times out of my pocket or not clipped the carabener clip properly because my shirt was in the way. Nothing worse than walking almost a kilometer away before realizing that your gps is missing! Well not anymore with this bad boy! Strong enough that if you drop your gps it does not even hit the ground, then it slowly retracts back up to your belt. Amazing.

GREAT!

I really balked at spending this much on a retractable lanyard...but after looking, I couldn't find anything worthwhile for any less. And now that I have it, I'd say it's worth what I paid. It is well built, has good retract force, stays clipped to my pack or belt loop fine, etc. etc.

I use it with the belt clip.. the lanyard keeps it from getting away from me while holding on to a large rock for dear life, the belt clip keeps it from dangling while also keeping it handy (love the quick release).

Great product, if a bit pricey.

RETRACTABLE LANYARD FOR GPS

Nice product to keep you GPS where you can access it quickly and extend it to a distance where your eyes can focus on the screen. I bought it to use with with my Oregon 400t. Had to use a homemade string to attach the GPS clip to the lanyard and, hopefully the retracting nylon string is durable enough to last.

NO GPS LEFT BEHIND

Pros: it is retractable
Cons: the mechanism could be a bit smaller

Did you ever have that sinking feeling... where did I put my gps after having a snack break on the trail? Or thinking that you snap the unit back on your shoulder strap and then hearing that thud of the gps on the ground?? Well the lanyard is one of those great little things that can save you money and a lot of aggravation on the trail.

WHY RISK LOOSING/DROPPING YOUR GPS?

Pros: ease of use, well thought out
Cons: haven't found any.

Before I spotted this retractable lanyard from GPS City, I had been robbing the lanyard from my Nikon rangefinder each time having to take the retractable lanyard off 1 piece of gear & putting it on the other. The good thing about the Garmin lanyard is the short whip ends in that you get 2 so that if you do have to move the lanyard from 1 piece to another all you have to do is squeeze the sides of the clip together & pop the lanyard off & snap it on to the other piece of equipment.
