GREAT UNIT
Had used Rhino 110 previously. 520 HCX unit is well worth the extra bucks. Picks up satellites better and color screen is great.

RANGE OF RADIO
Cons: radio range
The polling feature is nice when in range, but it sure does not seem like 8 miles. GPS works great with Topo Canada maps

UP'S AND DOWNS
Pros: gps and polling feature are good Cons: 2 way radio hard to hear voices
Using the polling feature I was able to locate our group of quaders after I had to return to camp and switch quads. The GPS has many options and it takes time to learn can be frustrating for new GPS users. Difficult to hear conversations on the 2 way radio (not that clear) I question the 8 mile range? It did get me home and for that I am thankfull

GPS
Pros: sd card, 2 watt radio, satellite antenna, easy Cons: large bulky battery
This GPS is very easy to use, the SD card makes map loading and information storing easy and even more usable. The two way radio works very well and facilitates countless uses. The improved GPS antenna rarely looses satellite signal outdoors. The pier to pier positioning feature makes keeping track of your group super easy and safe.

SO FAR SO GOOD
Pros: impresssed with the antennae reception Cons: screen could be bigger, and its a heavy bugger.
Limited use so far ,however I am impressed with the reception of this unit . even stuck inside my pack while snowmobiling it maintained reception continuously.

DIGITAL COMMUNICATION FEATURE IS NICE
Pros: digital locating Cons: tends to shut down for no reason, belt clip is not
I have a Rino 520HCX and I love it. A friend and I each bought one after getting separated on a motorcycle trip during the summer of 2007. I find that the radio is not as good as a stand alone unit for communicating, but the automatic location updating between Rino users is great. It's nice to know where your riding buddies are, even if you can't talk to them.
