EXCELLENT PRODUCT

This was simply a replacement purchase for my existing cord that shorted out because I picked up the unit (GPS) one to many times by the adapter cord. (Don't do that boys and girls. Not the way to look after your toys.) New adapter works just fine and I am more cautious when moving the GPS from vehicle to vehicle.

REPLACEMENT CAR CHARGER

Cons: nothing
After going to a few different stores with no luck or and very hefty price tag, I took to google to search for this older product. GPS City came up right away and after just a few clicks there it was the item I needed very badly.
The price was incredible and I received it in just a few days.
I can't say enough good things about how simple and fast this process was.

GARMIN 12 VOLT POWER CORD FOR NUVI 765T
Suitable replacement for the original power cord for use in vehicles. I was surprised at the very high cost to replace the original - which had the FM traffic report feature. I opted for the much more reasonable simple power cord. GPS City delivered fast.

EXACT REPLACEMENT FOR ORIGINAL CORD
I had an older Garmin StreetPilot with broken power cord. This was a perfect replacement at a much better price than if ordered directly from Garmin.

WORKS GREAT!
Pros: price, it works.
My lifetime traffic cig lighter adaptor crashed and after realizing I don't live where traffic is important, replaced the $100.00 one with the 16 dollar one and it works just fine thank you.

I broke the original cigarette plug end ton my Nuvi 780. Since the MSN network seem to be unavailable or doesn't work in my area of Canada, it is no loss.
It is a MUCH better deal than the $110.00 Garmin quoted me to have them service it -- even when shipping was added in AND delivery was quicker than expected.

Delivered quickly. Replaces 4 year old original vehicle power cord which was becoming intermitant, probably due to the cord flexing and eventually breaking. New item pulls out of cigarette lighter more easily which will put less stress on the cord.

GREAT CABLE FOR MOTORCYCLES

Cons: traffic info w only single cable?
Spent a lot of time trying to find a cable w/out a power indicator light. This allows for "plug n play" into a power outlet wired directly to the battery w/out fear of draining same (as long as gps is taken out of cradle or power dock wire is disconnected) whenever the ignition key is removed. Security dictates removal anyway, at least in my book.

This adapter is not available anywhere I looked .. Except at gpscity.com . . this was exactly what I needed to replace the original cord. The power cable was as described and fit the Garmin Nuvi correctly. I installed it on my motorcycle and is is functioning very well. I use it along with the Ram mount designed for my Nuvi and I am happy with both.

You must order this adapter if you plan on using a second Zumo suction cup mount... no other way... it should be included with the mount, but the combined price would scare the faint of heart.

I bought this cable so I could power my Nuvi 5000 from my motorcycle and use the original power cable that came with my GPS in my car. I was concerned that there might be a transformer to step down the 12 V vehicle power. Since I was directly wiring to the battery (through a fuse) I pulled apart the piece that plugs into a cigarette lighter and found no electronics hiding in there - just straight 12 V power and ground wires.

The product description doesn't exactly call out every model this fits, but for my Nuvi 760, this was the cable I needed (after I accidentally through away the original one!). The GPS City folks were fantastic, I called them and the gal verified very quickly that this fit my model. These folks are great!

In our industry, being able to rent out GPS units to some of our customers is a plus for them and us. Unfortunately, if you have not use one of those before, some parts can be tricky. One of them is connecting and disconnecting the adapter. It plugs in nicely, but you are unaware at first that it will not simply unplug by pulling it. After a few first time customers try it this way, the plug comes apart. It is nice to be able to replace them with this item.
