The 2610 is a excellent package for the money. The only thing I would change in the package that is received is if the memory card could be upgraded to the 256MB size. Once the version 6 of city navigator is installed the unit works extremely well. The bean bag mount is very stable even on rough dirt roads. For the money spent it represents a good value.

I purchased the 2610 to use in my two cars and a motorcycle. This device is great. It is so easy to use and very accurate. I recommend getting a larger compact flash card for memory. I was only able to load the Southwest United States on the 128MB card. I can't imagine a better unit for motorcycle use. I purchased the RAM mount and the cable with audio to tie into my VStar 1100's battery. The 2610's screen is bright enough to view even in the harsh Arizona sun and auto adjusts for night viewing. The screen is just large enough to make quick glances for information safely and easily. I was impressed with the newly overhauled unit. It works perfectly and saved me money over a new unit.

I bought Model 2610 so early that I had to wait for the release. Got it in November 2003.The machine works fine and I have enjoyed it some of the time. The Map Source program that came with it is poor.now I understand that new roads come in use from time to time, but some roads have been in use for a long time and are not available with MapSource. The information on the disc was out of date when the 2610 was new. MapSource can steer you wrong, sending you to a restaurant or Motel that never has been there. When you drive miles to get there, arrive at announced destination and find an apartment house that may have been there for seventy-five years, you know that MapSource has sent you on another wild goose chase! In my own home town, it will not recognize our hospitals, and we have had two for more than fifty years. It doesn't find the hospitals in Ellensburg, Yakima, Toppenish, Sunnyside, or Kennewick WA. Whoever gathered the information for this program was innacurate. They put a Safeway store at a location that is wrong. I know because I have lived here all my life an there has never been a store there. A new machine should not have been released with such poor information. Now they have come out with a V6 Mapsource program that they want to rip you for about 150 dollars. And you can't even be sure that has been put tgether by anyone smarter than those that mad V5. I guess you can tell that I am very dissappointed With MapSource!

I share the pain of other review's with regards to the accuracy of MapSource and the Garmin map sets! I use this on my motorcycle and frequently select 'non-interstate' roads. These roads are depicted as solid lines - but yet in reality some are very rural/gravel roads (never even seen pavement). It seems there are other issues with even major roads that have been in place for years - GPS does not know they exist and advises 'you are off route'. Or try being in an unknown area and rely on the GPS to get you to the destination - only to be told to make a left turn in 100 feet, but yet no road exists... in fact its a river! Garmin's severe lack of attention to detail has caused many headaches when taking trips into unfamilar areas - To the point where I've resorted to turning the unit off and asking for directions! Oh... And do not believe that the 4gig cars will work in these units... Yes, they will/can work - but only if you do not load more than 2 Gigs worth of maps.
