GOOD GPS

Pros: simple and easy to use.
Cons: no bluetooth, mp3, bigger size.

I got this unit almost 3 years, no problem so far, maybe I am a lucky guy. I also owned 3 other gps, I would say this one is the best. It's simple and easy to use.

I bought the c530 and we like how easy it is to use and the voice prompts are clear and the screen is very user friendly......Having said that, there is a problem with the maps as they must be old, as it always trys to direct us to the old highway in our area and a lot of streets are completely missing.....These streets have been in existence for over 10 years.....When we are coming to an off ramp where we are going to turn left off of the ramp it tells us to stay left but we have to go right before we can go left....I think an upgrade is in order because the unit is not advertised with old maps, it's stats indicate existing maps Not old maps.

C530

I do not leave home without it. I travel alot and it is always the first thing I pack. Have had very few wrong directions but reboot, like any computer, and it corrects these problems. I like using the Trip Information Page even when I am in a familiar area because it gives me compass bearing, speed plus all travel information. Bought from GPSCITY.com and was very please with price and speed of delivery as with all my other 3 purchases.

MY C530

The unit basicaly does everything it is suppost to. I think I recieved a lemon. It has quite on me twice,I mean it will not even turn on. The first time I was in the middle of a trip, and had to finish the trip without GPS assistance. Garmin was able to correct the problem by downloading a soft ware upgrade. The second time it did this I had to send it away to a repair shop which informs me the unit is going to be replaced. This was three weeks ago no GPS yet,so I am not happy with the units dependability. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem.

I received the C530 and found it relatively simple to set up and use. However, I was shocked at how old the maps were, missing ramps that had been there at least two years, and telling me to turn where the road has not existed for quite a while. The website will sell me an upgrade for $100, but hey!, I JUST BOUGHT IT! It also failed to find hotels that had been there for years. It is fine if you know the area, but then, why do you need GPS?

We bought this marvel from *.com as it was on special at the end of December, 2006 (406$ US tax and shipped). *.com does not ship to Canada, so we had it delivered to our vacation resort in Orlando. It was waiting for us at the check-in, and it was everything you read in the specs and much better. The window adapter is small and not intruding; the unit is small and well made; the display is clear and easy to see night and day; the menu is intuitive and easy to operate; the directions for navigation are clear and easy to follow. All the stress of being in a strange city and not knowing where everything is, was suddenly gone. No more wrong turns, no more wandering if you are on the right street. The first day, one hour after opening the box, my wife asked: Where do we eat? We chose the Outback from the list provided by the c530 and the rest is history... Leaving the new year's eve party at the Universal CityWalk, we got stuck in a huge traffic jam at 2 AM. Everybody was trying to turn left on a completely blocked 4 lanes route. I decided to go straight instead of turning into the blocked road. The small wander announced: "Recalculating" and it took us home by an alternate route. Sometimes you have the feeling that you are not thinking anymore, and you are just following instructions. But you know what? When you are on vacation and you can get anywhere you want like you do at home and you don't have to fight the paper maps all over your car, I can take that feeling.

I've been using the Garmin Streetpilot C530 for about 4 months now and it is, by far, the best automotive GPS unit out of a few I've used. It is very accurate and route recalculation is very quick. The screen is excellent and the voice instructions are crystal clear. Also, acquiring satellite signal takes just a few seconds and maintains it very well (SiRFstarIII GPS Receiver). Further, it is very user-friendly and that I never even had to read the user's manual at all. The only negative about it is the windshield mount the C530 came with. I wish it were longer so I don't have to reach that far forward as much when entering destinations, as I have it mounted on my Toyota Sienna minivan. I nearly opted for the C550, as I thought I wanted the text-to-speech feature but upon trying the unit, I was convinced that it's not a big deal and not worth the extra money. I don't really care about the MP3 player as well as the bluetooth function. Actually, the bluetooth function on the C550 became an annoyance, as the unit automatically paired itself to my cell, thereby grabbing (and disconnecting) the link from my initially paired bluetooth headset. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Garmin Streetpilot C530 and I know anyone will be too.

I recently purchased the Garmin C530 GPS, and found it to be an expensive but an excellent piece of equipment. It gets me wherever I want to go without fail. It has a very sensitive receiver, mine picked up the satellites in the basement. the sound is good, so is the screen, even in sunlight. I find it very easy to program, as the letters and numbers are big enough for my fingers. The suction cup mount is also very good. Ones it is on try to get it off. There is no way the unit will fall off when hitting a bump in the road. I honestly cannot find anything negative to say about this GPS. Anybody who is looking for a good and reliable car GPS; this is the one!

I am a senior with some memory problems. I had difficulty remembering directions and always getting lost. Since I purchased my Garmin I have had NO problems, it gets me there and back safely and one of the benefits of not getting lost is the gas I save. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to find there way efficently and quickly.

I got a Garmin C 530 to replace the Prima GP-51P. I tried for a month and could not get alonf with AT ALL !!!!o the local post office, the bank and back home. The Garmin C 530 is 50 times more user friendly and so far very accurate, up to 2 meters. I love it, already within 24 hours. It took me to the local post-office, gas-station, bank,...... and back homeagain. I think it is a masterpiece, compared with the Prima GP-51P.

I just received my new Garmin c530 and am delighted. I have been using gps since the system was activated, for kayaking, hunting and as a professional driver and this is my sixth gps, all from Garmin. The acquisition time on this unit is fantastic, it is very simple to use; note the very brief user's manual...it doesn't need to be more detailed. The voice prompt is loud enough for me to use without hearing aids and the visual display is very clear. This gps is made for car use.....and on the roads, and it is fantastic. If you plan off road use....get a gps made for hikers, hunters, etc. For on the road....this is my pick of the litter, and I love it.
