Manufacturer Description |
The VHF 720 is a small, stand-alone radio transceiver that-unlike many handhelds radios-can survive constant saltwater spray or even an accidental dunk in the bait well. The battery compartment is sealed off from the main circuitry so the unit remains water tight-even while the batteries are being changed. The battery tray slides out completely for easy loading, and accommodates both alkaline and NiCad batteries.
The VHF 720 boasts a unique "knobless" design for simple operation which allows simultaneously squelch and volume adjustment. A large, backlit display gives crisp detail even in direct sunlight, perfect for communications in open fishing boats. All of the unit's key function-including squelch and volume adjustment, channel selection, channel scanning, weather alert, and Tri-Watch monitoring-are accessible via a waterproof keypad.
Rain or shine, the GARMIN VHF 720 will make a welcome addition to any mariner's footlocker.
