SUITABLE REPLACEMENT WHEN NEEDED
Pros: price and delivery
Cons: problem with original cradle will probably reoccur
This replacement mount is working as it should and as the original mount still should. Unfortunately, I expect that in another few years, I will again be needing a replacement as the spring contacts that connect to the GPS will again start to lose their connectivity and audio will first become noisy with static, inconsistent volume and then loss of connection. With the replacement, the sound is clear and crisp. The mount provides a secure mounting platform for the Zumo when a replacement cradle is needed or when adding to a second motorcycle. The price of the replacement and the prompt delivery were definite pluses.

GARMIN ZUMO 550 MOTORCYCLE CRADLE
great gave me extra parts. like so many other people had to buy just to replace flip top portion as plastic broke. the rest of the old cradle was still operational.Wish there was a replacement or repair part for that.

GREAT FIND
Pros: exact replacement
Recieved item faster than expected and it was installed and works great. Couldn't beat the price the next cheapest one I could find was around 80 bucks before tax and shiping. Thanks for having it available so cheap.

GARMIN ZUMO 550 MOTORCYCLE CRADLE
Cons: original unit lasted less than 12 months of riding
This cradle is a necessity if you wish to use the zumo on a bike, but the original mount lasted just a little over one year. Motorcycle equipment should be designed to stand exposure to the weather.

MOUNT FOR ZUMO550
Excellent mount, works great and is very secure. The screws/nuts that are used for mounting are longer than needed so the ends protrude, which doesn't give the installation a real finished look, but this is a small complaint otherwise, very happy with this mount.

ZUMO 550 MOTORCYCLE CRADLE
Pros: easy to install
Cons: zumo 550 car & motorcycle mounts internals fragile
Easy to use and install but does seem to be very sensitive to road vibration. 1st unit was replaced under warranty. Warranty service by Garmin was very good as was delivery of replacement cradle.
Installed second unit using a Tourtec mount with built in vibration isolaters. No further problems with unit. I also had problems with car mount and had to replace outside of warranty period.
Recommend? YES

ZUMO CRADLE
The small piece of plastic on the top that holds these small metal pins is very weak and snapped. No fix other than to buy another poorly designed one for $58.00...NO THANKS!!!

GARMIN 450-550 CRADLE
Pros: works great looks great
Cons: original died in 14 months
Ok, the cradle works very well, the only thing I would say that Garmin should have made this a bit better. My original cradle crapped out in 14 months, and the warranty is only 12 months. I tried to get them to warranty the product but would not. I need this to have my GPS functional on my motorcycle so it was necessary to buy a new one.

CRADDLE
Pros: good soild mount
Cons: better water protection at the connection
This is my 2nd cradle for my Zumo 550, it works well and its easy to mount. Just make sure you hook up the power to your ignition or head lights and not directly to the battery, so the power isn't on all the time or else it may short out on you during heavy rain or when you wash the bike, yes the protective rubber cover can still let water in, it only takes 1 drop. I think that's what happened to my 1st one. Be much nice if there was a power on/off switch for idiots like me who don't know much about electrical.

For a cradle that is going to be used outdoors. Zumo should limit the sales of this item to arid climates

OEM PART
Exactly like the part from Garmin. It would be nice if this part could also come with the RAM base that Garmin ships with the Zumo, or at least a link on this part's page. Still this mount included the security screwdriver, and bolts for connecting to a base.
