GARMIN ZUMO 550 VEHICLE SUCTION MOUNT

Pros: good solid glasping mechanism
Cons: fragile power cable attachment

This is a good solid car mount really holds onto the GPS and makes a good base connection. The swivel suction mount also gives a good amount of movement. The internal speaker is also quite adequate. I had to purchase a replacement mount because I did not remove the cable from the mount before packing it for a trip and the internal socket broke off the circuit board. I learned my $70 lesson, ALWAYS REMOVE the cable when moving it between vehicles, it really is a fragile attachment at the circuit board.

POWER CORD MOUNT IS FRAGILE

Be very, very careful with this mount when the power cable is connected. The slightest bump and its ready for the trash heap. I'm trying to decide now if I want to take a chance on wasting another $70.

POOR DESIGN

Cons: not reliablepoorly constructed, way too expensive

I rarely & always carefully used the oem auto mount but the power connector broke (wouldn't stick to window in cold wx). In order to use the zumo off the motorcycle I guess I have to buy another auto mount at an exorbitant price & try to coddle it even more. I haven't discovered a better option but, at mount prices a new auto gps might be better choice, maybe get lifetime map updates & better features for less for a few dollars more

NOT AS STRONG AS I'D LIKE.

Pros: secure mount, clear speaker.
Cons: smashes to bits after being repeatedly run over.

This does an excellent job of holding the GPS to the windshield. However, when it is left on the roof of your car, dropped onto the road and then run over by hundreds of cars, it quickly disintegrates into a collection of barely- recognisable pieces. Annoying that it does not include the power cord, since you always need both, it is a bit of a rip off to have to buy them separately.

ZUMO AUTO MOUNT

Pros: easy to attach.

The best way to take the Zumo you bought for your motorcycle along in the car or pickup.

GREAT CAR MOUNT

I have the Zumo 550 for my motorcycle and wanted to use it for my car. I purchased this mount and it works perfectly. It holds very well to my dash and does everything that I wanted it too.

ZUMO CAR MOUNT

Pros: affords the ability to have just one gps unit
Cons: over priced

I view this product as an unfortunate necessity. I used my original mount sparingly and still had to replace it with this one. The cost for this is way too high in todays market. This will be the one and only time I will replace it. I could have just spent a little more and got a second entire GPS unit for the car and kept this one on my bike.

GARMIN ZUMO 550 VEHICLE SUCTION MOUNT

Pros: the only way to mount the zumo
Cons: should come with power cord.

The Zumo 550 is my primary "on hiway" GPS, therefor it has to be transferable between the truck and car and two Harleys. For the "cages" one needs this suction mount but don't overlook that it doesn't come with the power cord. Silly Garmin!! With more States prohibiting suction mounts on windshields, and more vehicle manufacturers fabricating interiors that aren't suction mount friendly, this presents a challenge. With this in mind, consider GPS City's friction dash mounting pad... works as advertised.

GARMIN MOUNT

My initial contact with Garmin was to find out if there was a recall on the mount. I am presently on my third mount at additional cost, naturally, and I am disappointed that it has cost me this much so far. I am into this system for a considerable amount of money and only wish it was more reliable.

550 SUCTION MOUNT

Pros: well made and works as expected.
Cons: voice level too quiet.

Works very nicely but the voice level, even when turned all the way up, is not loud enough. Some times it doesn't release the Garmin unit from the clamp easily.

GARMIN ZUMO 550 VEHICLE SUCTION MOUNT

Pros: great quality and ease of use
Cons: there are none

Bought my Zumo from BMW Motorcyles of Atlanta. It did not come with the vehicle mount. To make that purchase complete I bought the car mount. The system is really not complete without it. I don't have anything negative to say about the vehicle mount. If you are going to spend what you will on the Zumo do yourself a huge favor and get the mount.

ZUMO 550 VEHICLE SUCTION MOUNT

Pros: need it for the speaker
Cons: falls off, poor connector wire (power cord)

Unfortunately Garmin has not put a speaker in the unit itself. so this is a necessity. Poor design for the connector. WHEN it falls off the window, it puts strain on the connector and basically destroys it. The suction cup doesn't work well. Does not come with power cord, that is ridiculous!

GREAT MOUNT

The Car mount is a sturdy, mount that works great. Holds well to glass, especially with the weight of a Zumo. Drawback, does not ship with power cord.

WHY DIDN'T I GET IT SOONER

I initially bought my Zumo 450 for use on my motorcycle and it works great. When I started to look at other GPS's for my truck I couldn't get over the price of a "good system". Especially since I already owned one. When I saw a friend with his Zumo using it in his car I found out about this automotive mount. Once I purchased it(the delivery was so fast it almost arrived before I ordered it) I realized how practical a product it is. The window suction mount is solid. It might as well be crazy glued to the windshield. The sound (built in speaker) is great for directions and clear. Don't use it for music though unless you hook up to your cars stereo with an audio jack. I recommend it as a money saver really, 90 bucks (plus 30 for the power cord) is way cheaper than a new system. Plus you don't have to program 2 separate GPS's. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is that the power cord should come included. Really who buys a t.v without a power cord or a monitor without a connecting cord.

WINDSHIELD MOUNT

This is a must have if you own the Zumo 450/550. My primary use for my Zumo 450 is on my motorcycle. With the suction cup mount I have the options to use in any vehicle.
