The Garmin rino series are must have tools for all search and rescue, hunters, emergency services and military personnel. The rino is a handheld GPS with built in FRS/GMRS radio that supports both audio and data.
You can talk to others in your group and share your exact location in the same transmission. If a user is not responding to calls you can manually poll their location to see where they are so you can make sure that they are ok. If you want to keep your messages covert you can send text messages that can not be picked up by regular two way radios used by others.
Getting cold out? Know what weather is on the horizon with the built in weather channels that support Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME). SAME allows you to plot the weather on your rino's mapping screen.
With the new Basestation addition to Garmin Basecamp you can monitor your crew in the field by attaching one of your units to a Mac or PC. The position transmissions from each radio will be plotted on your map screen. You can accurately follow and dispatch users in the field to execute a perfect mission. |
