IT WORKS
Pros: does the job Cons: big and not a water tight fuse assy
Decent product, fuse assembly could be smaller and water tight for motorcycle use. The leads from the fuse to power source could be longer. This is my 3rd unit for my motorcycles. No problems yet and would recommend.

GILSSON 18 PIN BARE WIRE POWER CABLE
The plug in end, from the junction box to the gps unit, is too short if trying to hide the cable. the junction box is in the way if trying to use cable in a vehicle. the junction box is too close to the power output end and should be at least three feet longer.

IT DOES THE JOB
Pros: does what's needed Cons: wires too long
Not a bad cable, works fine. But for using on a motorcycle, but wires are too long with no option to shorten one of them. and the block in the middle a large and different to find a mounting location.

HARLEY INSTALL
The wiring connector is just what was needed for my Garmin 760. The power cable is unique to this unit. I found it difficult to find a similar adapter to compare. I was disappointed to find the ground wire connection weak and flimsy the verdict is still out as to how long the ground connection will hold up. The fuse box is difficult to hide but I can put up with it.

PERFECT CABLE TO WIRE GPS TO MOTORCYCLE
This was the ideal cable to wire my Garmin Nuvi to my Harley Sportster. I soldered an SAE connector to the end, used small black tie straps to hold it in, and it was all set. And as usual the price from GPS city was great.

DOES THE JOB
Pros: connector fits my nuvi perfectly Cons: bulky fuse box and needs a waterproof cover.
Bought it to hard wire my Nuvi 650 GPS to my 04 BMW R1150R motorcycle. The 18 pin connector fit perfectly into my GPS and I could not tell the difference between the Gilsson connector and the one that came with my Garmin. The wire was long enough, but as others have stated the fuse box is bulkier than it needs to be. Would be nice if it came with a waterproof cover for the connector as many customers use it for motorcycle applications. Installed it and it works fine. Fast shipping as usual from good old GPS City!

GREAT CABLE
Pros: easy install
Installed this in my 2002 Boxster S with no real issues. I needed to add a few short wires to the ends so I could connect to the fuse box and ground. This portion of the cables should be a bit longer as the ground wire seems to wrap around the + wire like a shield which does not allow you to separate the ends further up the lead. The "fuse box" makes it a bit difficult to feed the wires through a small opening without removing parts of the dash. The install looks clean without the lighter adapter cable running along the dash!

PLENTY OF SLACK
Pros: built in fuse included, sufficient length Cons: none
I used this to power my Nuvi 750 on my motorcycle. It functions identically to the 12v cigarette lighter adapter that came with the unit, except it comes with bare leads already exposed, making it easier to hard wire. For the price of this cable, it more than pays for itself by preventing the headaches of moving the Garmin cable back and forth between two motorcycles.

GREAT FOR PERMANENT MOUNTING
Pros: no cig lighter required. hardwired. Cons: no traffic reception (i believe)
I used this to permanently mount GPS in an emergency vehicle. As far as I know, it will not be an antenna for traffic, but we don't need that. Contains transformer for 12V to 5V conversion. Worked great for our purposes.

GARMIN GPS WIREING HOOK UP
Pros: simple to install if directions were furnished Cons: many wasted hours in research trying to find out
Wireing A+. Directions F-. When I received it, it had no directions. I did not know if it needed an inline fuse installed or not. I Did not want to burn out my GPS by hooking it up wrong. I spent a complete day on the phone, calling other suppliers of these cords and talking to everyone I could think of and no one knew the correct way of hooking it up. Finely I hooked an inline fuse on the hot wire (Red) between the end of the wire and the battery. I hooked the red wire to the + side of the battery, and the ground wire to the frame. Installed the GPS in it's bracket and waited for the smoke and flames to sizzle my GPS to a melted lump of plastic all over my bike. Nothing happened. The GPS came to life and worked fine. After saying all that, the bottom line is, a little note with the wireing saying "Hook the hot (red) wire to the plus battery post or accessory side of your switch and the ground (black) wire to the frame. There is a fuse in the black box inline in the wireing." THAT LITTLE NOTE WOULD HAVE SAVED ME A COMPLETE ALL DAY JOB OF RESEARCH, UNCERTAINTY, AND WORRY. SHAME ON YOU. I still didn't know what size fuse to put in the fuse holder that I installed. After some thought, I took the fuse out of the car cigarette lighter plug and used that size fuse. About five days later, another company called from their tech support where I had left my name and number and told me to hook the wires directly to the battery. Red to + and black to -. They said that the fuse was in the black box in the wireing. I would purchase from GPS City again. Mabye everyone can learn from this.

HANDY WIRE HARNESS
Pros: well made.long wires.price. Cons: none
Convenient wire harness if you want to install on a vehicle that doesn't have a cigarette lighter socket. (example: motorcycle, trucks,ATV )One end is made exclusive for the Garmin, the other end is two bare wires.Wires are long enough for any installation. You should connect to a fuse for safety.
