DOESN'T WORK WITH PALM TREO PRO
Pros: works with usb port to garmin streetpilot c340 Cons: doesn't work with my palm treo pro
I tried various cables with various pieces of equipment. I was able to power up my Garmin and run/charge it. However, when I plugged in my data cable for my phone, it didn't charge the battery. The phone thinks it is in Sync mode. I did try the cables (two of them) with other sources (not the PC) and they both worked fine, just with this 12V DC USB module it doesn't work.

12 VOLT DC USB-CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG
Pros: good concept to charge batteries Cons: doesn't work to power the gps when switched on
I very much like the concept of this Cigarette- USB adapter, but it doesn't work. Whenever I plug it into the Nuvi GPS it acts as though it is connected to a computer and will not power up the GPS receiver.

NOT AS PICTURED
Cons: not as shown
I ordered this because it showed the USB port on the side of the unit. This would have been more convenient in my truck. The one I received has the USB port on the end the same as most. It works fine but I already have two the same style.

NICE IDEA
Pros: good idea Cons: vibrates loose in the socket
On my Suzuki King Quad 450m the adapter does not stay in the 12v power port. Belkin solved this problem with a rubber ring at the end of the adapter. It holds it from vibrating loose.

GREAT IDEA
Pros: great for saving batteries when 12v is at hand!
This is a perfect solution for powering your GPS inside your car or truck. I was even able to use the USB cable provided with my GPS unit. I hope that they make a waterproof one so I can use it on my motorcycle.

Worked good for a while (probably less than 6 months), but then the USB plug started getting unreliable. I'd have to monkey around to get the cable positioned just right in order for it to maintain a connection with my GPSr.

More versatile than dedicated auxiliary power adapters for each pda, blackberry or other USB powered device.devices. It is a very solid, well built unit. Works great with the GPS and now I can use the back lighting without killing the battery. Great value!
