BELT CLIP FOR 60CS

Pros: enexpensive
Cons: none

If you oown a Garmin 60 cs or csx and use the belt clip you know it wears out quickly. This replacement clip works perfectly and is enexpensive. Also anyone who has orderd from gpscity knows they get the product to you fast.

GPS BELT CLIP

Pros: ease of use
Cons: a little bit fragile as it will break off.

I use it to clip my GPS to my pack when hiking or hunting. It makes the unit easily accessible for quick reference.

GOOD

Good functionality, as expected. At first it appeared that the threads of the nub screw did not fit my eTrex, and I didn't want to force it. But GpsCity checked and pointed out the solution: There is a thread-lock coating on the screw, and indeed one just has to force through that. And of course that coating is a good thing to have.

All the mounts of this style have the reputation of being a little fragile/ breakable, if the attached GPS is jostled hard. There are two approaches to this. As I did, one can just accept/ leave this as a desirable "break away" feature. GpsCity sells a related replacement belt clip, which is very inexpensive, if needed. And I think one also should have a lanyard to the GPS anyway.

[I read a good comment by a Boy Scout leader, regarding winter camping. "It is surprising how much equipment is lost when it is dropped into the snow."]

Or one can reinforce the bottom of the clip where the nub/Gps usually rides. Find a thin metal washer which covers the bottom curve, cut it into a matching U shape, and glue it over that part of the belt clip. There is even a YouTube clip about doing that. The functionality of the clip is good enough that it is worth the effort.

GPS BELT CLIP KIT

Pros: quick and convenient to use. secure storage.
Cons: none

These are indispensible for hiking with your gps. Quick attachment and removal to your belt or backpack strap. Allows you to keep your gps readily to hand while not obstructing the antenna. Very secure attachment. I bought two.

GREAT DEAL

Pros: works great at a good price
Cons: none

This belt clip is almost indistinguishable from the original Garmin clip and button, but at less than half the price. It works with the original Garmin button, or you can screw the new button into the GPS (in my case, a GPSMap 60 series). As a bonus, it comes with self-adhering buttons for other devices. When the flimsy clip on my walkie-talkie breaks, I intend to replace it with this clip.

GPS CITY BELT CLIP KIT WORKS GREAT

Pros: simple and secure.

The GPS City Belt Clip Kit is very similar to the Garmin Belt Clip Holder, at a great price. It is Simple and secure. It easily clips to the shoulder harness of my water pack, or my belt. Yes, it is plastic, but it should be for light weight, low cost, and to break away if needed in case it is bumped hard against something. Advice, use a lanyard also.
