The irock! 410fm player offers a convienant way to play your MP3 player in your car or to play on your stereo without having to change multiple CD's, and DJ your own songs from your couch, because let's be honest... we all want to DJ from our couch.
I am a little torn on the actual player. It looks horribly cheap, so I was very cautious about picking it up, but the price won me over. For the price you pay, it is to be expected for a lower quality designed product. However, don't let it throw you off. While it is a cheaper design, it produces a very clean, crisp sound with little distortion, if you are not moving the player or your MP3 player. It's small size fits perfectly in the car, and the cigarette adapter (included with product) has a very decent length on it, so you can use it in the back seat of a car. The obvious downside to the product, however, is liability to break easy. Weighing in at an incredible 1 pound, it is very lightweight, but it is by no means a thing to be tossed around. The product also takes a little bit of getting to work correctly. I live in a small city (20,000 population), yet I still seemed to get excess radio static when plugged into my car via the cigarette adapter, even though the fm frequencies around the one I was playing were clean. However, tweaking the volume between the 2 products (mp3 player and stereo) is the key. If your stereo is too loud, it picks up too much frequency static. If your MP3 player is too loud, it sounds distorted. It takes 10 seconds to fiddle between the 2 volumes to get a clean, crisp sound like I got on my stereo. Try using half MP3 volume and a little bit of stereo volume to start.
For the price you pay for the product, while cheap, it is a very handy tool. If you are into travelling quite frequently or will be using the product often, you might want to invest in an iTrip or another product similiar to your MP3 player. Seeing as I only use it in my car, I would highly reccomend it to anyone.
Pros: -Very light weight. -Fantastic price. -When used correctly, produces a great sound. -Wireless when not used with cigarette adapter. -Solid battery life (13 hours)
Cons: -Range is moderate at 10-30 feet. -Cheaply made, can be broken easily. -The on/off button is not indented, and it has no lock switch, it can easily be bumped in a purse or bag and be left on (therefore killing your batteries)
Overall rating: 8.0/10.
I really like it, just make sure you keep it close to your stereo, tweak the volumes and make sure it is kept where nothing can turn it on accidently. What it comes down to for me is the amazing price and good/great quality when used correctly. I would reccomend this product for anyone wanting to play some tunes in the car or DJ a party at yuur house!
