Help Desk: Shipping Information

Shipping Rates
Our shipping rates are based directly on the rates given to us by the carriers. For the most part, rates are determined by applying a base rate plus a weight/volume based increment depending on the specific carrier. Please note that we do not pad or inflate the actual shipping rates we use. In rare cases, the shipping rate may increase slightly during the checkout process if our carriers determine your shipping address to be in an outlying or rural area (this is beyond our control). The adjusted shipping amount will be shown during the checkout process, so you will be able to see any changes.

Ship Notification
We automatically send you an email with your order tracking number when your order ships.

Track Your Shipment
The Order Status page on our web site is the quickest method for you to get information on the status of your order. When your order ships, we email the shipping information to you by the end of each work day. This info will include your tracking number and a link for you to click to follow your order's progress from our facility to yours.

International Shipments
To ship an order internationally outside of Canada, please visit our USA division at www.gpscity.com. For more information, please see the section on International Orders.

Shipping Methods: USA

GROUND: Deliveries to residential and commercial addresses in 3 to 7 business days. Delivery to some remote addresses may take up to 2 additional business days. Available only to addresses in the 48 continental states.
3 DAY: Delivery between 12:00PM and 3:00PM of the third business day to most US cities and by 7:00PM to residential and/or rural addresses. Service to major metropolitan areas in Alaska and Hawaii may require additional days for delivery.
2 DAY: Delivery between 12:00PM and 3:00PM of the second business day to most US cities and by 7:00PM to residential and/or rural addresses. Three business day service to major metropolitan areas in Alaska and Hawaii, other addresses may require additional days for delivery.
NEXT DAY PM: Delivery between 12:00PM and 3:00PM the next business day to most US cities. Two business day service to major metropolitan areas in Alaska and Hawaii, other addresses may require additional days for delivery.
NEXT DAY AM: Delivery by 10:30AM the next business day to most US cities. Two business day service to major metropolitan areas in Alaska and Hawaii, other addresses may require additional days for delivery.
PRIORITY MAIL: Deliveries to residential and commercial addresses in 2 to 4 business days. Delivery to some remote addresses may require additional time. Available only to addresses in the United States. Due to early pickup by USPS, orders placed after 11AM Pacific Time may not ship the same day.
APO PRIORITY MAIL: Deliveries to APO/FPO PO boxes in 2 to 4 business days. Available only to military addresses in the United States. Due to early pickup by USPS, orders placed after 11AM Pacific Time may not ship the same day.

Shipping Methods: INTERNATIONAL
Fedex Int. Priority: 2 to 3 business day service to most countries.
Fedex Int. Economy: 3 to 5 business day service to most countries.
USPS International: 6 to 10 business day service to most countries, small packages only. NOTE: these shipments are not insured and GPS City responsibility ends when tracking number is generated and package is placed with USPS.

Incorrect Shipping Address
In the event that your order has shipped and contains erroneous shipping address information (provided by you at the time of order) so that the shipper cannot deliver the shipment, we will attempt to correct the address information and reroute the package to you. This may cause a delay in the shipping time and any additional charges by the shipper to GPS City will be charged to your account.

Non-deliverable Shipping Addresses
We do not ship to:
 Post Office Boxes
 Private Mail Box Locations (i.e. PMB addresses)
 Hotels/Motels/etc.
 Trade Shows/Conventions/Conferences

Complete vs Partial Shipping & Backorder Policy
Occasionally, items shown in stock on our availability page at the time of your order may not be in stock if stock levels drop and another order placed ahead of yours has depleted the available inventory. We apologize for this inconvenience. To accommodate this situation, you have the ability to indicate on your order to 'Ship Complete' or to 'Ship Partial', as follows:

SHIP COMPLETE: Our policy is to ship all orders on a complete basis and within 24 hours (usually same day if received by cutoff time) of receiving your order. If your order calls for an item that is or has just gone out of stock, then we will hold your entire order to ship as soon as the item arrives using the shipping method chosen. If the item that is not in stock is incoming on the next shipment, we will allocate items from that shipment to your order, and ship your order the same day the items arrive in our warehouse. If the item ordered is not on order with our regular inventory shipment, we will order the item. Delivery time will depend on availability from the manufacturer, and usually runs 3 to 10 days.

SHIP PARTIAL: If you would like us to ship your order on a partial basis, that is, whatever is in stock when your order is processed, and the remainder of your order when all back-ordered items are available, then you should indicate that this is acceptable to you by clicking on Partial Shipping during the Checkout process. The first shipment for your order will ship using the shipping rate for the shipping method you have chosen for your order. While there is no additional shipping fees incurred, we do charge a small handling fee of $2.99 for each additional shipment, which are sent using courier using ground service, or by postal mail, unless advised otherwise. We will usually process only one backorder per regular order, unless you advise us otherwise.

Many items are restocked within 3 - 10 days. With that in mind, we will keep your order open and do our best to ship the item you ordered. Orders that have backordered items on them are marked as 'BACKORDERED' on the order status page and the date shown is our current best guess when the item will ship.

Refused Shipments
The quickest way for us to process a return for you is for you to accept delivery and then contact us about sending the item back. When you follow this procedure we can credit your account in just a few days. If you refuse shipment, the product goes back to the delivery company and might not get back to us for 2 or 3 weeks. We cannot process your return until we receive the product. We recommend that you accept delivery of the product and then return the shipment by first obtaining an Return Authorization Number for the return.

Missing or Damaged Shipments
We guarantee all signature-required deliveries through their respective carriers. Should there be a problem with a package that has been damaged in transit or erroneously confirmed as received, we will file a claim with the contracted carrier on behalf of the customer, and will refund payment or re-ship the item upon the settlement of the claim. Please allow up to 3 weeks for the settlement of Fedex claims, and up to 6 months for settlement of USPS claims.

We are unable to refund or reship on standard USPS shipments that do not require a signature, or on any orders damaged due to customer negligence.
