My country is not listed - how do I place an order?
If your country is not listed above and you would like to purchase from us, then we will accept your written order as follows: 1) order must be
in writing, 2) your complete billing and shipping addresses must be provided, 3) payment must be in advance by wire transfer, 4) the order amount
must exceed $500US, and 5) an order handling fee of $25 will be added to the order. We ship only to approved countries on the US
Export Control List. Email your order request to email@example.com and we will
respond within 24 hours.
Order Identification Request
All International orders are manually screened for fraudulent credit card use prior to processing. All
attempts to place fraudulent orders are recorded and forwarded to the proper local and international authorities. We may require additional
identification and/or pre-payment by wire transfer prior to your order being processed and shipped. You will be advised by return email and
your order will be held 'pending' until resolved.
If we request additional identification from you, please fax or email us a legible jpg/gif of your credit card (front and back) along with a
copy of a piece of your picture ID. Our fax number is 1-702-990-5603. Email your jpg or gif file as an attachment
to firstname.lastname@example.org. We destroy all identifications once your order has shipped.
All international orders are firm when processed. In the event the customer refuses a shipment, a refund will be provided once the returned prooducts are received less the original shipping fees to the customer and less the shipping fees to return the items.
Returns, Defective Items & Warranty
Our returns policy applies to international shipments with the exception that you are responsible for shipping costs - both to return the item to us AND to have
the item shipped back to you. After the return period, the manufacturer's warranty applies and you must return the product directly to the manufacturer in the USA. See here for more information. You may be able to obtain service in your local country, however, we are unable to help with this. Save your receipts to show as proof of purchase.
International Insurance Fee
All orders shipping to countries other than the United States are subject to an additional small insurance fee.
Lost Or Missing Shipments
In the event that an order fails to arrive at your international destination, GPS City will track the shipment and reroute it if necessary.
In the event the shipment is lost, GPS City will submit an insurance claim for the order and will provide a refund to you immediately upon
receipt of the insurance claim refund. This can take upwards of 30 days in some instances.
Local Customs & Duties
You are responsible for all customs, duties and taxes payable at your country's customs offices when these goods are imported into your country.
Rates for duty and taxes vary from country to country. You are advised to check locally with your government customs agents to verify the taxes and
duties prior to submitting an order with us. In the event any customs, duties and taxes for your order are billed back to us, they will be automatically
billed to your credit card along with a small $10 handling fee.
Modifying Invoices/Gift Declarations
We are occasionally asked by our international customers to modify an invoice by 'using a lower value on the invoice' or by 'marking it as a gift'.
Note that we will not comply with a request like this - we do not falsify invoices whatsoever and our policy is to ship orders only with the proper
commercial invoice included.
International Versions of GPS Products
Our visitors often ask us if we can sell the international versions of the popular GPS receivers seen on our website. Typically, sales of international GPS models are restricted to
the authorized International dealers for specific countries. As we are not an International dealer, GPS City can not sell them.
However, note that ANY GPS unit (North American or International) will work ANYWHERE in the world - it is just the internal mapping data specific to a certain area that may not be viewable.
All GPS units will continue to provide all the basic positioning & navigation functions anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day.
As a work-around, customers can buy a GPS unit from GPS City and then upload mapping data for their specific region or country, effectively making their unit an INTERNATIONAL unit.
We have many reports from customers who have had good success in Europe using this method. This process will also work in the rest of the world, but other countries may not have the same
quality of mapping data.
