512MB DATA CARD ADAPTER
Would it be a bargain if Garmin could produce an adapter to
accept the Micro-SD card.. Paying $81-00, postage and
exchange rate, works out to be too expensive.

AN EXTREMELY USEFUL TOOL TO HAVE
Pros: very good service from the supplier - gpscity Cons: pity that garmin have discontinued the 276c Absolutely superb product. I purchased 3 of these cards -
eventhough I already have 1 off 512mb and 2 off 128mb cards.

GARMIN 512MB MEMORY CARD
Pros: here has the best price i could find anywhere OK it sucks that you have to buy some special GARMIN memory
card for $80+ when you can find SD 2gb cards for $8. But
that is how it is and if you want to down load more maps to
your GPS you have to do it.
I use this in my 296 GPS to load topo maps. It has worked
great and does what I need it to do.

512 MEMORY CARD
I like the ability to have one card for my favorite marine
charts and then insert a land card for those maps without
having to reload each time I switch back and forth. I
agree that the price for Garmin memory cards is high,
particularily when Garmin has customers who have purchased
their products over other manufacturers. It would seem to
me that keeping those customers happy would certainly help
referral sales. It can't be that expensive to produce
memory cards. Are we thinking price inflating here?

GARMIN MEMORY CARD
Pros: huge construction, reliable memory. Cons: price A good memory card, but the costeffectiveness is not the
ideal. The capacity and velocity did a huge upgrade in the
GPS.

PRODUCT WORKS FINE BUT PER MB WAY OVER PRICED!
Pros: works Cons: rediculously high price! Can you say PROPRIETARY? Garmin sure can and they will make
sure that you can say it too when they charge you an arm and
leg for half a gig of storage. They are also pretty good at
pretending we are in a time warp for the price of solid
state memory. At these prices, it looks like we are still
living in 2004. Looks like they have protected their patent
rights on this card too since they seem to not have allowed
any licensing rights to any other memory card manufacturers
to help drive prices down by spurring on competition. Way to
go Garmin! Always thinking about the bottom line-your bottom
line!

EXTENDED MEMORY
Pros: pure necessity Cons: price It's a pity that the card is so expensive and so small!
Garmin should be ashamed to charge this amount of money for
a product that should really be built in to the GPS. They
also forces the usres to buy the largest avaliable memory by
changing the maps into larger chunks.
BTW it works as supposed though:-)

VERY EXPENSIVE MEMORY
Pros: very hard Cons: expensive In spanish: Es un producto caro, son 512mb y cuestan 90

BIG MEMORY CARD - COULD BE BIGGER
Pros: drop it in and you're all set! Cons: could easily use a larger capacity. Garmin continues to underequip its GPS units in
the memory department. You can outdrive or outfly
128mb worth of maps in a few hours, necessitating
an in-progress GPS update. Definitely not the
best way to do business. 512 Mb should be the
standard card, especially if you're buying a unit
costing +$1K, with upgrades to 1, 2, and 4 Gb
available.

I'VE SEEN CHEAPER MEMORY
Pros: it works Cons: too expensive I think Garmins memory is way to expensive, and
not particularly fond of the way the memory is
recognized by the GPS, very little control on
what types of maps you can load.

LOAD ALL THE MAPS YOU NEED, AND THEN SOME
Pros: must have for units with limited memory Cons: proprietary and limited units that can use this. This is a must have addition to get all the maps
a person might need. I loaded all I needed for
City Navigator and still had room. If your unit
can use this, get it. Shop the internet but you
will not find it any cheaper than at GPSCity.
This was exactly what my Garmin 276C needed.

YES, 276C COMPATIBLE
Hi Clinnet, yes, the 512MB card is suitable for the
276C according to the Garmin product page here:
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=693#productTab
Any Garmin map should display OK - I've used these
cards with 3rd party maps OK too.
The card can only ever rate a bad score as it's
proprietary and vastly overpriced - even with the much
reduced price at present.

DATA CAR Q.
Quick question - Is this compatible with the 276c and
the Topo 2008 Map? Looking above with the heading
Compatible Garmin GPS units, it does not read GPSMap
276c. Thanks.

GARMIN 512MB CARD
It is a pity that a great GPS unit such as the 276 needs
proprietary memory cards (with limited capacity) such as this
whereas the "lessor" gps units use generic cards such as a SD
etc.
