original design caused chafing and failure of cable when
mounted on pole stand. new design eliminates failure
point. antenna is used on a 182b/w chartplotter model

BEST ANTENNA
I order this Antenna on Aug 2, and received it on Aug 6th,
and for the fifth time I order items from gpscity, I
received it within 4days. I only wish that I could used
this online store for all my Electronic purchases. Believe
me they are the best.

GOOD ANTENNA FOR A BOAT
Pros: nice long cable
Cons: no mountin hardware (look elsewhere for that)
I installed this and spent my vacation on my boat. The
satelite reception is great! One thing, there needs to be
some mount hardware to make this work. The RAM mount stuff
at GPS City is no good for the marine usage.

Pros: easy to install. long co-ax cable.
Cons: requires additional rail mounting hardware
This is a great addition to my Garmin 420 Chartplotter.
The only draw back is that the rail mount is extra if you
do not wish to flush mount the antenna. The delivery was
quick.

MEDIOCRE
Beware! Unlike competitors' products having a
similar price and appearance, this antenna is NOT
an active antenna! Do not purchase if you must
extend the coax beyond the 35 feet provided. I
criticize Garmin for not providing any specs for
this antenna. Consequently, purchasers have no way
of knowing that this is only a passive antenna
with no internal amplifier.
