The Foretrex 201 is a wearable Personal Navigator, perfect for outdoor and marine enthusiasts who desire hands-free GPS navigation in a lightweight, affordable package. This product is part of Garmin's growing line of wearable, wrist navigation devices. At a mere 2.75 ounces, this waterproof wonder is lighter than most watches, and its wrist-top mount frees up hands for outdoor activities. Sporting an ergonomic wristband, the Foretrex 201 is similar in design to the Forerunner 201, yet is chocked full of GPS navigation features found in Garmin's popular Geko 201 unit. With a user-friendly interface, the rugged Foretrex 201 simplifies navigation, making it ideal for the backcountry or water. It's six dedicated buttons (GoTo, Page, Enter/Mark, Up, Down and Power) make it easy to operate. It offers the most essential navigation data - enhanced GPS accuracy, extensive storage for waypoints, and reversible routes and tracks - on an easy-to-read display. Don't worry about packing extra batteries, because the Foretrex 201 runs on an internal lithium battery for 15 hours (typical use). Simply recharge and go. The Foretrex 201 also comes equipped with special features sure to please mariners and hikers alike. It includes a unique application for sailing and paragliding racers that allows them to configure the start sequence of a race. The countdown is displayed in a large-number format that audibly alerts the user at each phase of the start sequence. With the help of Garmin's exclusive TracBack technology, hikers can mark a campsite, go trekking all day, and follow the electronic ''breadcrumb trail'' back to camp in time for dinner.

John Firth, ID November 5, 2009	GREAT FOR ULTRALIGHT AVIATORS Pros: light weight, simplicity of use, wrist-strap ext Cons: none I've only had this unit for a month, but have used it plenty. So far, so good! It's very handy to have so many options in such a neat little gadget...and light enough to wear like a watch! As a powered parachute pilot, it is a perfect addition to my other instruments! Dreffed November 13, 2008	GARMIN FORETREX 201 A nice small device perfect for cycling, it gives a fairly accurate path of the routes I take. Perfect for timing my rides into the office and around the locale. I will probably get one for my dad for sailing. Jennifer January 1, 2008	GARMIN 201 STOPPED WORKING I loved this product when I got it back in 2004. I have used it all over the world successfully. It's helped me train and race numerous times. Sadly, the device has slowed died. First, the enter button stopped working and now it has just stopped working. It's battery charges but it no longer turns on. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FORETREX 101 AND 201: The difference between the Foretrex 201 and the Foretrex 101 is the Foretrex 101 runs on 2 AAA batteries, and has larger unit dimensions. 110V AC BATTERY CHARGER SOLUTION: The AC adapter cable shipping with this unit is a 110 Volt AC with US Wall Pins. If you place this cable in a 240 Volt AC power source to charge your unit, you WILL burn out your GPS. GPS City offers a 240-110 Volt AC converter. This will step 220-240 Volts AC down to the correct voltage (110 VAC) for this cable. Click here for more.
