To identify if you are eligible for a free update, you will need to complete the registration process at my.garmin.com, or you can just purchase this DVD for the price shown. IMPORTANT NOTE: Garmin software is not returnable. Update your existing North America City Navigator DVD or GPS Software to Version 2009 with this DVD. This retail map update DVD offers full coverage of North America - United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. This new generation of Garmin Map Update allows customers a simple and convenient way to update the detail maps and the latest over 6 million points of interest in their Garmin product. Customers will have all the latest details to navigate with confidence. IMPORTANT NOTE: Garmin software is not returnable. Understanding the Garmin City Navigator Update Process: This DVD is free to purchase, but requires an unlock code to access the updated mapping data. If you have purchased your compatible Garmin product (see list below) after May 1, 2008, the map data may be out of date. You can receive a free map update by first registering your Garmin GPS unit at www.mygarmin.com. The registration process will identify if you are eligible for a free update. This update is for NON-NT versions of City Navigator Software. The NT units require the Update North America City Navigator NT DVD 2009. You must already own a Garmin compatible product to make use of an update. The update data will not load without an existing installation of your older version of the Garmin software or GPS.

However, I would have chosen "not relevant" but this radio button is not among the choices presented to me. I ordered this DVD but it is not compatible with my StreetPilot i3.
