The GARMIN GPS 16 delivers exceptional accuracy while standing up to the harshest environment. This surface mounted GPS sensor has an integrated antenna housed in a rugged, waterproof design. The 12-channel receiver allows for continuous tracking of all visible satellites. It's WAAS capable, which means it can provide position accuracy of less than 3 meters on average. This incredible accuracy is possible without the use of an external DGPS beacon receiver. The GPS 16 also offers excellent EMI/RFI performance for easy integration into systems that will be operated near mobile computing devices and wireless communications equipment. The cable on the GPS16-HVS uses a flexible black PVC jacketing material. The cable is 5 meters in length and contains 8 color-coded 28 awg wires that are terminated in an RJ-45 plug. OEM16 MODELS AND SPECS: GPS16-LVS: Attached 16 foot power/data cable with a RJ-45 end connector. Accepts power from low voltage power supplies between 3.3 and 6 VDC regulated to less than 100mV ripple. Asynchronous serial data interfaces via 2 serial ports with true RS-232 voltage level outputs.* GPS16-HVS: Attached 16 foot power/data cable with a RJ-45 end connector. Accepts power from unregulated high voltage power supplies between 6 and 40 VDC. Asynchronous serial data interfaces via 2 serial ports with true RS-232 voltage level outputs.. Click here for more. SERIAL INTERFACE/FORMAT: PORT 1: True RS-232 output, asynchronous serial input with RS-232 or TTL voltage levels, RS-232 polarity. / Selectable between NMEA 0183 v2.00, NMEA 0183 v3.00 and Garmin binary formats: NMEA v2.0 (ASCII); Approved output sentences: GPALM, GPGGA, GPGLL, GPGSA, GPGSV, GPRMC, GPVTG; Proprietary sentences: PGRMB, PGRME, PGRMF, PGRMM, PGRMT, PGRMV. PORT 2: Asynchronous serial input only, compatible with RS-232 or TTL voltage levels, RS-232 polarity. / RTCM input only; RTCM SC-104 differential input message types 1, 2, 3, 7 and 9. Garmin Configuration Utility: Download and run this program to evaluate and configure you OEM GPS unit when connected to your PC. Review the updates and downloads for the OEM 16LVS. the cable at the end of this unit will need to be joined to the PC, generally using a RS232 port end.
