Portability meets capability in the pocket-sized Garmin Quest. This easy-to-use unit is loaded with the high-end navigation features from our most popular GPS navigators, and best of all, it's portable. So, you can use it in multiple vehicles - or slip it in your pocket for handy street-level directions when you're navigating on foot.

From salespeople to summer vacationers, Quest's features are sure to please:
• Automatic routing with turn-by-turn directions and voice guidance to get you where you're going
• High-speed processor means fast automatic off-route and detour recalculation
• Rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery that provides up to 20 hours of use
• USB data connection for fast map downloads from Garmin's entire line of MapSource CDs
• 256-color, bright, sunlight-readable display makes it easy to view turn-by-turn instructions and map detail.

Smaller than a standard television remote, the Quest provides an ample screen viewing area, but it won't demand a lot of room on the dashboard or in the briefcase. The unique antenna folds flush with the unit when not in use and users can connect an optional external antenna as well.

The unit ships with fully unlocked MapSource City Select CDs, which provide full coverage of the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. For weekend warriors who want to use the unit on a camping or fishing trip, the Quest is waterproof and fully compatible with the entire line of MapSource outdoor cartography. With 115 megabytes of internal memory, this small-but-powerful GPS navigator has plenty of built-in map storage. So, in a pocket or on your dash, Quest gives you the freedom to travel light - with lots of map detail at your fingertips.

I was not sure the screen would be large enough,but being that it is in colour...I have no problem seeing it through progressive lenses. The unit functions as advertised. The small size of the Quest is also a plus.

The Garmin Quest 2 with RAM motorcycle mount has added a whole new dimension to long distance touring. Compact, and with any and all features that one could want in a GPS for the road, this is the perfect companion to highlight a long trip. The amount of useful information you are provided is staggering, and the level of detail of the pre loaded maps continues to "blow me away". Overall, I am very pleased with all aspects of the GPS so far, and I continue to be amazed at the amount of technology in such a small, compact package. Additionally,when parked, you can slip it in a pocket and quickly access various services as you walk throught the town or city where you are staying that night. Overall, I rate this product as near perfect for motorcycle touring use.My only regret is that I waited so long to buy one !

If you are traveling across country, the quest is not the unit for you. It has limited map memory, but it is fine if you are staying within a couple states. Traveling across country? Go with the Quest 2, with maps preloaded in the unit.

I have used the Garmin Quest [not Quest 2] since it was introduced about 2-3 years ago. I also use the software City Navigator v8 and City Select v7. So this unit is awesome. I use it in the car, in rental cars, and on my motorcycle. I have ridden and driven across the US/Canadian continent just using the Quest and would definetely buy it again. User Pros: Price, great mapping with Navigator or Select, portability between vehicles, battery life is more than you will likely need, weather proof. User Cons: Struggles in downtown environments [nearly all GPS struggle], easy to drop. Can be slow to update info with curret Navigator v8 s/w. ScreenSize - this is fine believe me you wont need anything bigger and you will really appreciate being able to use this unit in different vehicles easily. Memory: Quest has only 114Mb internal memory which is not much especially given the upgrade in mapping detail with each software release. It also has no memory card option. In Europe the Quest has 256Mb as it was forseen that mapping detail would require it. With 114Mb you can certainly hold an entire province or state etc. If you are travelling across Canada or US you would likely need to upload more map segments as you go which presumes you have a laptop with you. On motorcycles this unit is unrivalled. The Quest cradle with RAM mounts works perferctly. No vibration etc. Its the best for size and weight [weight balance on handlebars]and in my opinion you would not ride without it. Antenna tends to flip up at speeds in excess of 120km/h if you dont have a screen. But an elastic band fixes that!

I have only had my quest for a short time now but as far as I'm concerned it's fantastic. The screen is so nice and bright that the smallish size is fine. Other people have said that the limited memory is an issue, wrong. I've loaded a fully detailed almost entire Canada in the machine and its got lots of room. The voice guidance system is great too! I would strongly suggest this unit for in a car or on a bike.

Garmin really got the Quest right for car and motorbike. I mount it to my bike with a Ram brake reservoir mount (about 35.00). For bikes, it's best run on battery power. When turns come up, the unit beeps and lights up to warn and inform. In the car, the light stays on. The unit is water proof, so the speaker is in the lighter power cord. The speaker is easy to hear. You really can't beat this.

Excellent size for a motorbike. Good readability in most lighting condition. Memory of 115MB is OK for most trip around. However, if you are planning extensive cross country, the I would definitely go for the Quest 2. After 3 years, I had an issue with the flip antenna that lose sometime its connection. Need only two screws to replace and remove the antenna. Could not get a replacement one since Garmin only want to sell me a refurbished units. I end up using a remote antenna.
