HOLUX GPS
Pros: simple, easy, and compact this product was recommended to me by a friend for my boat.
I purchased this gps to work with a marine software for
navigation of the great lakes. we have just completed a 500
km trip from Ottawa to Georgian bay over a 10 day period.
the gps performed perfectly. there was not a single time
that it let me down. the software was easy to install and
the unit was automatically recognized every time i plugged
it in to my notebook computer.

A GREAT GPS.
Pros: quick locks and stays locked under most conditions Cons: none so far. I have Holux bluetooth GPS and was very impressed with it's
performance so I bought 2 of the GR 213's for another
project and was not disappointed. I have used a dozen
different models and manufacturers mobile GPS units and this
one rocks. Getting a location lock is quick and reliable.
This unit keeps a lock when most other units are back
searching for the satellites again. Highly recommended.

WORKS ON VISTA
Pros: very fast signal acquisition Cons: none so far The driver CD shipped with the product doesn't contain
drivers for Vista. You can get a working driver (tested on
Vista 32 bit) from the Holux website:
http://www.holux.com/JCore/en/products/products_download.jsp
?pno=273
This driver is for the GR-213U but works fine with the
plain GR-213 I have here. Dunno if it works on 64 bit
though.

AWESOME PRODUCT!
I love the ease of use of the product. I am writing my
own application and needed something to use for the
prototype. It was too simple to get going: just plugin
and install a driver (I'm using XP but driver isn't
required on Vista)
Not only am I impressed with the product, the speed of
delivery across Canada was quite impressive!

Works great for me. Compatible with MapPoint 2002/2004 and Sreeets and Trips 2006 - Microsoft. Personally I like Streets and Trips better.
In fact I didn't try MapPoint 2006.
