Once you have connected a suction cup mount to the RAP-299-3 sub-base, your electronic device is in an accessible location when you don't want to attach it to your windshield or dash - as long as you have a cup holder. Simply slide the base into a spare cup holder in your vehicle, and you are ready to go. The mount includes a solid plastic composite tube base with a round plastic mounting plate. Kevin K Boise January 20, 2009	PERFECT SOLUTION FOR ME. Pros: nice and sturdy, easily removed when not needed. Cons: you lose one cup holder. I was having trouble finding a location to mount my GPS unit. I saw this and had to give it a try. The suction mount (purchased separately) comes with a flat disk that sticks to the top of this base. Then the whole thing drops into my cup holder. It looks like there may have been other plans for this mount. Seems overly complicated for what it is. I would think you could screw a ball mount down if that's what you needed. It is packaged with two screws for some reason? 56 out of 122 viewers found this review helpful.
