ELITE 5 DSI
Pros: great bottom detail in the ocean. Cons: good to 300ft.cord 3-4 ft short for 22ft boat.
My unit did not come with instruction manual. Showed constant interference from downriggers in trolling situations. Great GPS unit once I figured out the menu controls and otherwise lost in thick inland fog in BC Ocean. Depth contour in Sonar mode good with many color choices for the display. Unit flashes when over 300 ft deep. Unit constantly flashed inacurrate depth while travelling over 10 MPH. A fairly decent entry level GPS /Fishfinder Combo with included Navionics Gold for BC Westcoast charting with accurate Depth Contours .

OK GPS
The maps are good, a little slow to load and the fish finder is really only good for showing the bottom not fish

DISAPPOINTED IN THIS GPS/SONAR FOR THE PRICE
Pros: lakes included in chip, screen size Cons: no fish finder capability, print size, quality of
I installed this unit in June and disappointed in the product for the price. Set up is complicated, Chart depths/detail are too small to easily read, No fish finder capability. Online manual only which offers very little detail. Many low tech users cannot even find the supplied micro chip card. My screen has a purple haze in it. Does not compare to my Son's Garmin at much lower price. DSI is highly overrated. Boat symbol (location) on the chart is not very visible. Chip does contain many inland Ont lakes as well as Great Lakes & North Channel. Screen size is nice.

ELITE-5 DSI GOLD FISHFINDER/GPS PLOTTER
Recently had it installed in my boat. Fairly easy to use. Took a bit to establish a route, but seemed user friendly after some playing around. Would recommend it.

FISHFINDER MISLEADING
Pros: great bottom shots Cons: not a fish-finder, just a dept gauge.
I waited a few years to get a really good fishfinder/charter plotter. Great bottom but it is not a fishfinder. The instruction booklet (not in the box as advertised, but download only) shows the DSI and traditional display instructions - states how to see fish on the traditional, but not on the DSI. I think Lowrance made a big oops - I spent some time on the web reading reveiw after review - biggest complaint, This puppy doesn't show anything but bottom. Lot of money for only 1/2 the product.

RELATIVELY SATIFIED
Pros: quality of display for sonar Cons: poor sounder & bracket design+quality of instructi
quality of the display is good & screen info easy to read. most of the data can also be customised wich is intersting Navigation thru the menus is a bit complicated. Users manuel does not clearly explain the incidence of higher or lower settings. Quality of instructions should be part of an improvement plan from Lowrance. Still trying to find out how do I get to show fish echoes on the display!!! I loose the bottom signal at max 15 miles per hour max wich is way under what's advertised. Sounder & bracket are really fragile for bass anglers who hopes on fishing in shallow & "dirty" water.
