The features that set the Meridian Platinum apart from the Meridian Range is a 3-axis electronic compass that provides rock steady readings regardless of how you hold the unit and a built-in barometer which gives you advance notice on the weather.
The GPS unit has a 16 MB, built-in mapping database which includes interstates, highways, major roads, waterways, city locations, airports and more. You can increase your mapping detail by downloading street-level maps on an optional Secure Digital (SD) memory card.
