Summary

Know The Mountain

Mountain Dynamics Inc. was founded to correct my belief that skiers and snowboarders were being overlooked by the GPS technology explosion. Sales of GPS units are doubling and tripling each quarter, yet as drivers, hikers, and mariners were getting products and services thrown at them, the winter sports enthusiast was making do with paper maps and confusing signage at a time when ski resorts are getting bigger and bigger.

SnowRanger ski resort maps for Garmin® and Magellan® GPS units were born. We brought our first products to market in November 2005, and we currently offer maps of 75 resorts in our California/Nevada, Colorado/New Mexico, Northeast, Northwest/Montana, and Utah/Wyoming SnowRanger ski resort map sets, and over 400 European resorts.

Mountain Dynamics has become the leading developer of digital GPS trail maps for ski resorts. We publish maps for Magellan and Garmin handheld GPSes under the SnowRanger brand, license our resort mapping data to our development partners for other platforms, and provide custom GPS map development and consultancy.

Mountain Dynamics has built a large and growing portfolio of development, corporate, and resort partners.

Mountain Dynamics also has established a strong commitment to the environment and the long term viability of the world of skiing.

Now you can truly Know The Mountain!

New SledGPS Maps for Garmin Increase Safety and Fun on U.S. Trails for Snowmobile Enthusiasts
January 11, 2009  Tucson, AZ (Link)

Outdoor recreational map supplier U.S. Trailmaps, Inc. today announced that they have teamed up with mapping product developer Mountain Dynamics, Inc. for the creation of SledGPS snowmobile trail maps for Garmin GPS. The collaboration of the two companies results in the first detailed, nationwide, commercially-supported series of snowmobile trail maps available for Garmin outdoor and automotive GPS units.

Although the SledGPS venture is new, the companies behind them are not. U.S. Trailmaps is an industry pioneer in the creation of commercial recreational trail information for the Location Based Service industry. Likewise, Mountain Dynamics has been supplying skiing enthusiasts in North America and Europe with GPS maps of downhill skiing areas since 2005 through their popular SnowRanger ski resort maps. The maps are available via microSD card and are purchasable by region or a nationwide version that contains over 103,000 miles of public snowmobile trails.

The SledGPS products include rich features such as:
Full interactivity with Garmin GPS receivers
Searchable trails, land areas, and POIs
Trail related businesses
Detailed roads
Hydrography

"This venture represents the first time that inclusive public snowmobile trails have been available for Garmin GPS navigation systems. Our goal is to provide trail users with up-to-date, relevant and accurate information so that they can safely enjoy the outdoors," said U.S. Trailmaps vice president Eric Antonson. "Being able to deliver our map information via the proven Mountain Dynamics platform allows us to deliver a robust application right out of the gate."

"The snowmobile trail data that US Trailmaps has acquired is astonishingly comprehensive," said Marcus Needham, President and CEO of Mountain Dynamics. "We knew as soon as we as saw them that publishing snowmobile maps for Garmin GPSes was a natural extension of our product line."

SledGPS maps are currently available at www.sledgps.com for $49.99 per region or $124.99 for the entire US.

Mountain Dynamics launches SnowRanger? Europe 2008/09 with 430 Alpine Ski Resorts
November 7, 2008  Tucson, AZ (Link)

Mountain Dynamics Inc., the world's leading developer of GPS maps and services for winter sports, has announced that its SnowRanger GPS ski resort trail maps series has been extended to the Alps. In partnership with Navionics S.p.A., SnowRanger Europe allows a skier or snowboarder to put detailed piste maps of 430 top resorts in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland onto his or her Garmin® or Magellan® handheld GPS.

"The large linked ski complexes of the Alps have been crying out for GPS navigation. The Trois Vallées area alone, for example, is larger than all the ski areas of Colorado and Utah combined," said Marcus Needham, President and CEO of Mountain Dynamics. "Take a wrong turn in the Portes du Soleil and you could find yourself in Switzerland instead of France!"

SnowRanger maps are compatible with almost all current and recent Garmin and Magellan GPS models, including Garmin's hit nüvi® personal navigators and their breakthrough Oregon touchscreen handheld.

"SnowRanger comes on a memory card that you just slide into your GPS and you're ready to go," continues Mr. Needham. "A GPS offers the rugged weather protection and long battery life that you need for a winter sports accessory, has no monthly or annual service fees, and does not rely on being able to see a cellular phone tower or other network. If you're lost in a blizzard above Chamonix you want the confidence of knowing you can see exactly where you are on the map."

Mountain Dynamics has also announced that its SnowRanger North America series has been expanded to 75 maps with the addition of 11 new resorts in the USA and Canada. This is SnowRanger North America's fourth season, and the new areas join a comprehensive roster of North America's top ski resorts, including such world-renowned destinations as Vail, Whistler Blackcomb, Aspen, and Jackson Hole.

SnowRanger Europe and North America are available immediately for worldwide delivery from www.mountaindynamics.com.
