Does the power cable connect to the cradle or the unit?

Is it correct the usb power cable plugs into the unit itself instead of a mount ?

Is there an accessory(mount) that allows the power cable connects to it instead of the gps unit iteself ?

(note: I don't like to keep connecting and disconnecting the power cable to the unit when I need to remove it from vehicle)

This unit does not use a powered cradle. Rather, the power cable will plug directly into the GPS itself.

Among Garmin's new line, the only units that utilize a powered mount are the 34xx units:
