this gps will no doubt display the speed i am travelling and the posted speed limit but will it alert me when i exceed the posted limit? if not do you have a unit that does? or are you thinking of developing such an option?

The unit will display your speed in red once it exceeds the speed limit, but there are no alerts beyond that. Unfortunately, such appears to be the same in the new Nuvis as well.
