Does the last parking place (Garmin locate) feature work 2555LMT?

I've a new 2555 and when I go in application 'last parking place' the list is always empty. When I remove the unit from the craddle and unplug it, the place is not marked in memory.
Can you try it on an another similar unit?
The software is up to date, and I have tried it with the unit on or off, always the same problem.

I have talked to a Garmin rep and they were able to make it work while I was on the phone. But I have not been able to make it work on our demo unit yet. The Garmin rep said he had to put in a route first. I will keep testing it but you may want to give Garmin a call to see if they can get it working for you. 1-800-800-1020

My spoken english is not very fluent so I prefeer to "talk" with my keyboard. I've asked Garmin about it by mail, they send me a procedure (see below). But my list is always empty..... don't understand...
Lemon unit ?

To use Garmin Locate to mark the last parking spot on a nuvi 2555

Place the device in its automotive mount
Turn the device on1
Allow the device to acquire satellites
Navigate to your destination
Remove the device from the automotive mount before turning the device off.
Turn the device off, if desired.
The nuvi will mark your Last Spot.

To create a route back to the Last Spot:

Turn the device on
Touch App
Touch Last Spot
Touch Go!

I have not been able to successfully test it. The unit Garmin has been testing is a nuvi 2495 according to the reps I have spoke to. I have a feeling the feature may not work in the lower end versions of that line. I am waiting for word back once the techs are able to test it with a model ending with 55 like the nuvi 2555.

Garmin said that it's my unit that doesn't work. I have to send it to repear. But at GPSCITY everybody said this function doens't work.
I'm sure it's a software bug because the magnetic switch is workin (unlocking of the unit when I put it on the craddle).

I have found that the key to getting the last parking spot to work on the nuvi's is to first program in a destination. If you have not destination there will be no saving of the last parking spot.
