I have been very pleased with this Garmin. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the sound is gone. Nothing when screen is touched and no voice prompts at all. I checked volume levels, mute, changing voice personalities, even did some updates but not a peep. Is there something I am missing that could have caused this? Or a possible way to correct the problem. I miss being told what to do, instead of looking at the screen while driving. Thanks for your help.

Hello David,
It sounds like you turned off the interanl SPeaker and FM on. Just click on the Volume button on the main screen. When in that screen select Audio Output. Make sure you are on Internal speaker and you should be good to go.

Cheers

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I tried. When I hit Audio Output, message comes up saying You cannot change volume when using headphones. But I'm not using headphones. Only response I can enter is OK. I'm lost.
Ahhhhhhhh

Hello David,

Check the headphone jack/audio line-out port to see if there may be some foreign material lodged in the port causing the audio to bypass the speaker.
If the port is clear, then there may be another issue and it may be necessary to send the unit in for repairs.

Cheers

My volume did the same thing and I just took the battery out for 10 seconds. Works fine now! I tried everything else, including cussing, and figured I'd try that.
