Can I locate fuel along the way while driving?

Can I locate fuel along the way while driving? I have an older garmin and am
able to locate fuel "along current route" but i would like to get a newer model
with lane assistant... does the "where am I" feature work while driving?

The "Where am I" feature will work while driving if safe mode is turned off. The 1490 LMT is an older model. I would suggest the Garmin nuvi 2595 LMT as a better more current option. It has a more intelligent POI search engine and will show you gas stations on the map while driving.
