Problem with 2460MLT Doesn't switch ON?

I both my 2640MLT eight month ago. During driving when I unplugged charger from car power port after 1-1.5 hours charge the GPS died. I pressed power on/off button to switch on and it starts loading maps and died again. I tried to plug charger but was the same thing except only it is not died its non stop switching ON start loading maps then switching OFF and starts all over again. Checked the power connection, everything seemed to be ok. Wondering what could be the problem

First trying holding in the power button in for about one minute. hopefully the unit resets. Then plug it in so that it gets a full charge. Once that is done and it is holding a charge try doing a update using Garmin Webupdater. Its a free download from Garmins site. If the above does not work you will want to call Garmin tech support (do not email). 1-800-800-1020
