In the spec it stated that the nuvi 1490 lmt is NOT topographic Map Compatible but yet in the accessories theirs plenty topographic map to buy so is it compatible or not?

The unit will read maps but not well. It should not be used as a hiking GPS unit but you can load your topo maps in it for a drive through the mountains.
