Can this unit be used for off road wheeling? I have a Jeep Rubicon and I'm looking to instal a GPS that can give me off road trails, topographic maps and in addition, a breadcrumb trace. Any and all recommendations for an appropriate gps is appreciated. Thank you

Hello Red,

The Nuvi 1350 will not do track logs or preplanned routes. I use my Nuvi for offroading and it works great. I have the equivalent to the Nuvi 765T. I recommend the Nuvi 765 because it can do the track-logs, routes, and display Topo maps.

You may also want to consider the Oregon GPS units. They have the ability to use custom maps and satellite imagery using Garmins BirdsEye service. The screen on the Oregon is a little smaller than the Nuvi. The Garmin Oregon is also geared towards outdoor enthusiasts so it has more features you can use for offroading.

Cheers
Jordan
